For some unknown reason, the Wildcats continue to get no respect and I’ll take advantage of that again here. If you’re not a believer in this team yet, consider this: Davidson has won 25 straight games. They have arguably the most dangerous offensive player in the game in the form of one Stephon Curry. The two defenses they just faced were Georgetown and Wisconsin. One led the nation in defensive field goal percentage and the other led the nation in defensive points per game. The end result: Wildcats win both games and average 73.5 points per game in doing so. Curry is such a dangerous scorer and he’s also proving to be clutch. He’s come up with big scoring spurts in the second halves of tournament games and this has proven to be a key for the Wildcats.
Davidson coach Bob McKillop was quoted after the win over Wisconsin when he was speaking about his confidence level in this team. Basically he spoke to the fact that he’s never coached a team where he’s had so much confidence in their abilities. The Wildcats are simply rolling right now and they have so much more than just Curry. Jason Richards is a fantastic point guard and he and Curry both have decent size at 6’2 so that they won’t be overwhelmed by matching up with Kansas. In fact, it’s Kansas that might want to worry about matching up with Davidson! The ability of this Wildcats offense to generate open looks has been amazing and Curry’s quick release is a big help in that regard. He’s definitely a “catch and shoot” player who can quickly create offense.
In the paint, although Boris Meno and Thomas Sander are slightly undersized in comparison with Kansas, they can each create offense in the paint. At 6’8 they are shorter than the Jayhawks Sasha Kaun and at 220 pounds they are lighter than the Jayhawks Darnell Jackson. However, the Wildcats have been playing up the “small versus big” analogy to perfection throughout this tournament. Having already knocked off “big boys” Georgetown and Wisconsin, the Wildcats can certainly remain competitive with Kansas. Keep in mind I´m not asking them to win this game as they are getting nearly double digits in points here. However, I believe (just as the Wildcats do) that this is indeed a winnable game for Davidson. Once again the Wildcats will play up the “underdog card” and all the pressure is firmly on this region’s #1 seed, Kansas. The Jayhawks are the ones that must prove themselves today and that’s a lot of pressure against a very dangerous dog. Also note that Curry gives the Wildcats excellent backdoor cover potential if it’s needed here. However, I don’t expect that to be needed as the Wildcats should be in range of an outright upset all the way in this one. Three seniors, two juniors, and some fantastic young talent (I´m not just talking about sophomore Curry!) has this Wildcats team poised for a legitimate shot at the Final Four. They will not go away quietly here…if they even go away at all

I am with you on alot of the things you had to say. My main argument would be Georgetown and Wisconsin are the teams you say they are. That is defensive teams. Pretty slow grinder type teams. KU is not. They can play that way, but they love to run, and run, and run, and run, and then run a little more. I am taking Davidson, because I think there is a legitimate back door shot here. KU has covered every game in this tourney by less than a bucket, who better than Curry to hit something at the end? The main reason I am taking Davidson is insurance. I will not be happy if the hawks lose today. I don't think it will happen, but if I lose on them and they lose the game...I don't know. They finally have a legit shot, but I would love to be playing the badgers right now.
So, in parting, good luck with Davidson. I am with you, but will be rooting against you.

say goodbye to Davidson......they lose by 15||an_shake.gif' border=0>Wisky&Gtown had bad offenses and are chronically slow.....Kansas will seem like they are on fast-forward to the WildCats...gl though Japo

Japo , I also am with you alot and appreciate your working analysis . A lot of cappers just throw out pics without any support .My 7 year old nephew can do that .
However , Today I believe Jayhawks have a more athletic team and will run away late in game . I did play over in both games today but I am still alittle afraid of Davidson and Curry enough to make it a no play . BOL and thanks again for your insight .||clover.gif' border=0>||clover.gif' border=0>
