you all are stating that UCLA lost so many of their scorers, don't you think the the lines makes also knows this? Don't focus on the loss of those players, just what they will do with the replacements!!!

UCLA is bad and should be fadeable all year. Always a strong public play. I like EWU in this spot too.
I think the Princeton/Rider total could be a play as well. Did you take a look at it odds? Princeton has dictated tempo in all of it's games and hasn't scored more than 69 points all year. I know Rider likes to get up and down but I'm not sure they're good enough to dictate tempo to Princeton. Rider is god awful defensively so my only concern is that Princeton actually scores efficiently. Any thoughts?

Being a UCLA fan i can say with pretty good authority that UCLA is a crap shoot to bet... what I do like about this match up is that E. Wash is a good 3pt shooting team and UCLA can't defend the 3 worth a damn... but the issue with their def on the 3 was they were trying to play man to man most at the beginning of the yr and guys just weren't switching right and fighting over screens... howland has realized as he should have at the beginning of the yr that this squad with it's length should be playing a zone and they've switched to that... i don't really know what to expect how the team responds to playing zone def but i'd have to imagine they'll be better at guarding the perimeter since they have the length to do so... tread lightly on this one...

Which I don't get. I mean, I understand not taking Eastern Washington but who on earth is putting that much on UCLA right now? Talk about a crap shoot as mentioned above by the UCLA poster.

Like E Wash and the under 135.5 (havent played either as I expect both to rise)
UCLA will play more zone and the pace will slow down a bit. Add some missed long balls and there should be a couple minutes here and there with no points on the board....

UCLA also doesn't have to deal with his 14 points and 9 rebs a game either. IMO, there aren't TWO people on that squad that can make up for that production.

of course they know this...but you have to understand that the linesmakers set a line at what they think will be even betting. they know UCLA is always a heavy public fave. i bet most people who bet UCLA blindly against a no name team dont even know the ins and outs of the UCLA roster...so linesmakers set the line high knowing the public will bet them anyway
this is why simple research can get you a long way in college bball. i'm from ucla and a fan. i too will be fading them all year. the lines will always be high as the books try to trap the public. ucla won't be covering a lot of spreads this year as long as these lines stay inflated.
knowing this...i would look to blindly fade them all year until they prove they can beat the spread. i would even sprinkle a little on the e wash ML ...i mean, we stink...no joke

does it kinda scare you that the last 2 Div1 games that Eastern played they got smashed? Cal St and Wash. st both beat them by 20. In both game Eastern was only at 5-6point dog. I liked Eastern early in the year but it seams like something has happend to them. You know more than me odds but Just wondering if that scares you at all. Take care my dude
