I HAVE DONE SOME THOROUGH RESEARCH ON THE NET ON BRACKETBUSTER GAMES AND IN PARTICULAR THE GAMES I LIKE. I CANNOT TAKE FIRST HAND CREDIT FOR A LOT OF THE MATERIAL I AM PROVIDING AS I GOT A LOT FROM READING MANY SITES INCLUDING OTHER MESSAGE BOARDS AND DOING A LOT OF CUTTING AND PASTING OF OTHER PEOPLE'S WORK. I HOPE NOBODY IS OFFENDED BECAUSE IT'S NOT LIKE THIS IS COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL AND I AM NOT USING THIS FOR A COMMERCIAL PURPOSE OR SUBMITTING THIS AS CLASSWORK FOR A GRADE. HERE IS MY TOP PLAY OF THE DAY:

    BRACKETBUSTER PLAY OF THE DAY:

4u Georgia Southern +3.5 -  Linesmakers can sometimes struggle to make lines on out of conference games as they can get caught up in what a team is doing within their conference. This game seems to have a bad line.

Austin Peay is the top dog in the OVC, but outside the Valley, they are just 4-6.

    Lost at Vandy 81-67
    Lost at Utah State 71-68
Lost on a neutral court to Valpo 61-47
    Lost at Memphis 104-82
    Lost at Evansville 72-62
Lost at home to Akron 64-55

Their 4 wins were 2 against Belmont, one against Florida Gulf Coast and a 3 point road win at Middle Tenn State.

The losses at Vandy, Utah State and Memphis are excusable but the neutral court loss to Valpo by 14, 10 point loss at lowly Evansville (8-17 this year) and 9 point home loss to Akron (3-5 on the road this year) (return game from last year's Bracketbuster) indicate that outside of the OVC, Peay isn't that strong.

Peay is a weak defensive team. They rank 335th in Effective field goal percentage allowed, 322 in 3 point percentage allowed and 330th in 2 point percentage allowed. In their 6 out of conference lined games this year, AP has allowed an Offensive Efficiency of 114.6.

In last year's Bracketbuster, the Governors were blasted by Akron 74-57.

Georgia Southern has played solid ball outside of the conference. They are 9-3 outside of the Southern Conference and have had some solid wins beating Cleveland State on a neutral court 72-20
and beating UAB on a neutral court 59-57. UAB is 17-8 and showed their mettle in a one point loss last weekend to undefeated Memphis and Cleveland State is having a solid year at 17-11. Equally as impressive were two of their losses, a 52-49 loss in Jacksonville to the SEC's Florida Gators (19-7 this season) and an spirited effort against Rhode Island (20-5 this season) in an 85-80 loss, a game where they trailed 31-8 out of the gate and actually took the lead late. GS plays solid defense. They rank 97th in Defensive Efficiency, 80th in 3 point defense, 60th in Block Shot percentage and 26th in Steal percentage. They held Cleveland State to an OE of 98, UAB to 80 and Florida to 82.3. In their 5 out of conference lined games, they averaged a 97.1 DE allowed.

The Southern Conference is simply better than the Ohio Valley. Here are quality out of conference games for Southern Conference teams:

Appalachian beat Arkansas on a neutral 74-67.
Tenn Chatt destoryed Murray State (Ohio Valley) at home 74-50.
Tenn Chatt loss to Tennessee 76-70
UNC Greensboro won at Georgia Tech 83-74
Davidson lost to North Carolina by 4, to Duke by 6, to UCLA by 12 and to NC STate by 1
Collegew of Charleston beat Temple by 3
Wofford won at Purdye by 3.

The Ohio Valley has been pitiful out of conference. Here are some notable OVC out of conference efforts this year:

    Murray:
Lost to West. Kentucky by 20
Lost to Miss State by 17
Lost to Tenn Chatt by 24
    Lost to Belmont by 17

    Eastern Kentucky:
Lost to E. Tenn St. by 20
    Lost to UAB by 14
Lost to West. Kent by 17

    Morehead:
    Lost to Houston by 29
Lost to Bowling Green by 16
    Lost to Oklahoma by 34
    Lost to Marshall by 13
    Lost to Louisvill by 24

    Tenn Martin:
    Lost to memphis by 31
Lost to Miss State by 16
    Lost to UNLV by 26
    Lost to Vandy by 7

    Tenn Tech:
    Lost to Florida by 28
Lost to North Dakota Stare by 18
Lost to North Carolina Central by 3
    Lost to Kentucky by 22
Lost to Gerogia Tech by 20

    Tenn State:
Lost to Georgia Tech by 14
Lost to Colorado State by 19
    Lost to Belmont by 11

    SEMO:
    Lost to Xavier by 31
Lost to Illinois State by 19
    Lost to Tulsa by 38
    Lost to Bradley by 18.

    Jacksonville St:
    Lost to Georgia by 42
    Lost to Kennesaw by 6

    East. Ill:
    Lost to Rice by 6
Lost at home to Loyola Chic by 7

Here is today's question of the day? What is the combined record of all Ohio Valley Conference teams in out of conference games against teams that actually have lines on the board? Answer: 10-46!!!!!!!!

The only quality wins out of conference by the OVC were by Tenn Tech by 17 over Oregon State and by 2 by Tennessee State at Illinois.

Here is today's question of the day? What is the combined record of all Ohio Valley Conference teams in out of conference games against teams that actually have lines on the board? Answer: 10-46!!!!!!!!

The only quality wins out of conference by the OVC were by Tenn Tech by 17 over Oregon State and by 2 by Tennessee State at Illinois.

and i agree with these bracketbuster spreads i think they can be exploited if you have a clear picture in your mind of how good these conferences are in comparison

Here is my Bracketbuster Lock of the Day:

If you bet every road team in Bracketbuster games, you will show a profit. You can take that to the bank!

4u OVER Youngstown/Buffalo 142- The Horizon is one methodical slow paced league. Here are the pace rankings for each team.

                                                       Pace Rank

    235
    223
    327
    167
    320

That's 4 teams rated in the slowest 16 teams in the country. Now with a chance for a few of these teams to get out of conference, I expect them to air their legs out.

At 167th in the country, Youngstown has a high pace rating if you consider the conference in which they play. When Youngstown has been given the chance to run, they have. Against Illinois Chicago (3rd quickest pace in Horizon), they have posted 74 possessions in both games. Against Wisc-Milw (2nd in Horizon in pace), they have posted 68 and 67 possessions. Out of conference, they have posted 76 possessions against Notre Dame, 72 against Robert Morris, 72 against Akron and 79 against UCLA.  Meanwhile, Buffalo's rating as 36th in the country in pace is truly amazing. Here are the pace rankings of the other Mid-American Conference teams they have played:

There are only two other fast paced teams in the MAC (C. Michigan and Northern Illinois). Against Central Michigan, Buffalo had 69 possessions in a game that landed 196 in 2 overtimes. Against Northern Illinois, Buff had 82 possessions in a game that landed 170.

This matchup brings together two teams that have pace ratings that are skewed due to their competition. This line seems very low.

4u UNDER Georgia State/Jacksonville State 133 - Jacksonville State's high pace ranking is attributable to numerous games against fast paced opponents that have jacked up their rating. Against Texas Southern (#1 ranked in pace) they had 89 possessions, Kennesaw (35th) they had 77; SEMO (10th) they had 74; two games against Tennessee Tech (41st) they had 71 and 73; two games against Tennessee State (67th) they had 74 and 79 and two games against Tennessee Martin (68th) they had 77 and 70. However, in home games against some of their slower opponents, they have played much slower games: against E. Kentucky (306th) they had 57 possessions; against Morehead (289th) they had 62. Eastern Illinois (302nd) they had 55; Austin Peay (187th) they had 63; Samford (341) they had 55 and Murray State (236th) they had 68.

    Prior to this week's game at Wilmington, Georgia State ranks 307th in pace rankings and they also are not efficient offensively with an OE = 94.4. In their last 15 games their possessions have been: 54, 55, 62, 60, 59, 58, 59, 57, 59, 66, 56, 55, 57, 57 and 63. The total points scored in their last 15 games are 112, 99, 102, 116 (regulation), 123, 122, 107, 115, 129, 109, 118, 96, 126, 130 and 116.

Not one of Georgia State's last 15 games (other than Wilmington) have exceeded 130. Jacksonville State has shown that they will play slow against slower paced teams. Based upon these two teams Offensive Efficiencies, this game would need over 140 possessions to go over. It just isn't going to happen.

2u Georgia State Pick - Jax State is one of the worst teams in the country and has no wins outside of the OVC. The CAA is a much better conference and Georgia State can play some defense.

My monster total on Buffalo jogged.

2u Wisconsin-Milwaukee +9 - Bradley's best player Daniel Ruffin was arrested today and is out. The Braves struggle without him.
