this line is steamy. When I make my bets I always ask the cashier “what’s popular”. I didn’t even have to ask, she just said “finally someone I know not playing bama”.
do what you want with info. Have a good one.

I’m not playing but I almost pulled trigger on dog.

I agree it was 4 but I’m just cutting and pasting the pr/data guy at betmgm. I’m not going to edit his numbers.
But yes you are right. Came 4 shot to 6 in hours, steamed to 8. No buyback from what I could see (and the reason I didn’t put money on it) literally not one contrarian with good money to slow it down.

I didn’t take it because nobody slowed the line down. You figure that 4 to 6 was sharp because came in first hours. That 6-8 is mix of public and pro money (because it was a laddered rise)
usually the book wants to side on sharp but sharp colluded with public (it happens).
so now the book is basically just hoping for a close game to take all action (this also happens)
if this was mid year I would have played but being beginning of the season “public cookies” from the book are frequent occurrence…they don’t start beating you up until thanksgiving

Of course they want bama to lose. But this like Philly eagles last Thursday, bengals Sunday night, and Kansas against byu has pros and public on the same side.
No respected money on Illinois to slow it down. If Illinois covers books will be very happy with that outcome. Usually on big games the book/sharp are on same side.
