I took that Point Spread as well Fbs.

Calloway was much better than I expected. Why? B/c several books had this listed as a Heavyweight fight. So I thought, (incorrectly) that was the contested Weight-Class. I'd possibly gone a little heavier if I had know this was a Cruiserweight. Cruiser is where Calloway belongs. 210 to 215 was too inflated for RC. RC is prolly not a Champion at Cruiser, but he's a lot closer at Cruiser than he is giving up 30-50lbs. at Heavy. RC worked some fairly nice old-school 1-2's upstairs 2nite. You don't see a lot of that any more. Very very simple, but effective. Pure heavy-bag stuff.

Ramirez+237 by Decision covered my 2 other outcome units, that went the wrong way A.

Those 7 point scorecards are really only 9-3 cards. But even that I did not quite see. I had it 6-6, a Draw, but the point deduction gives Marco the win. I really did not favor that deduction, it was just a little bit home-town'ish to me. A few warrings? "Yes." But I'd rather not take a point away in what looked like a close fight. Let the fighters decide that. Though on the official score-cards, it did not matter 1 iota. 7-5 either way, or even 8-4 seems ok by me. Witness the kla-assic argument for which side do you tend to favor? A good deal harder, though hitting less often fighter; vs. a hitting more often, but w/ less authority boxer. I don't see a sure-fire rule-of-thumb to arbitrate those 2 opposing schools of thought. So I'll listen to either one.

Ramirez buzzed De Jesus 2 to 4 times. But ADJ had 4 to 5 cleanly out-pointed, & therefore, winning rounds as well. Tough one to call.

I'll have more later in the week. ShoBox has me a bit riddled at the moment. But I do know that you see the Heavyweight Champ as the u.dog; how often? What......5% of the time? How about the Heavyweight Champ, who just so happens to have the Voltage edge as the u.dog;  how often do you see that? & man does the new Sho.com website pale in comparrison to the old one. The old one really had a metric ton of quality Boxing 411 to it.

I must say I knew that we were about to see a far too wide decision before it was even announced.  I called up one of my buddies who was watching this fight and said, "watch this crap, 117-110 across the board."  I had De Jesus winning 114-113 and I wouldn't have complained if Ramirez got a close split nod, but those scores were Midwestern hometown judging at it's finest.  The midwest has not been kind to me in 2007, two mooses in Oklahoma and now this in Missouri.

Briggs looks his same muscular self, but was even heavier then he was for the White Wolf at 273.  Sultan actually surprised me at the shape he looked to be in, I didn't expect him to be 221 after viewing photos of him earlier in the week.

Nothing changes for me, still just going to hedge the Iggy closing parlay above with Briggs inside the distance when the odds are offered at 5dimes for it.

I kan't call SB "muscular". Looks obvious to me;....that....SB has enjoyed his Belt. Being up 5 lbs., & that is a Career high for SB.

This is like the other side finding a couple of bombs early on in Stratego as a kid. It was game over early on as the other side just so happened to connect in just the right way, despite your early bombs;...... or......you duped the other side, & they chased, & chased & chased, then they ran outta petrol to eventually get beat. I like SB, he is good for Boxing. Nice persona'. Lottsa raw Voltage. But he can be beaten, esp' at a Career high in Weight, i.e. running on "E" later on re: petrol

Sultan has some Pop himself. Sultan is a Lefty. IF I'm Boris Grinberg; I'd just have Sultan give away the first 3-4 Rounds; then beat an outta shape, & very libel to be tiring SB late.

Looked pretty jacked to me when I watched the weigh-in yesterday, a tad more girth around the belt line then before, but not much. 

Of course that is the formula for beating Briggs.  I think the only way that Briggs wins is inside the 1st 3 rounds.  The only reason that he was still in the fight with Sergei come the 12th was due to the White Wolf doing absolutely nothing in the form of activity and therefore allowing Briggs to conserve what little energy he had left.  Though Timur has flaws, he is one thing and that is active for a heavyweight, so that same scenario will not play out.  He just has to avoid the bombs for a few rounds and then put a leather shampoo on Briggs while he reaches for his inhaler.

Yep, I guess Timur's last few borefests are still in my mind somewhere.  Meant to say the Sultan of Swat.

Interesting comments & Weigh-In results for 2nites ShoBox. Is Kirkland ready? Or is Duran a very live-dog?

I do like T.Brad' on the under-card. Good looking, strong kinda fighter. I like Jimenez as well. Eagle & Cally Brock.

But I'm still trying to fig' out the ShoBox Main-Event. That was a helluva a smoke screen by Kirk' or Kirk' is in some real trouble & not motivated to fight at all.

Your kidding me Bigeiii? You like Brock, Kyowa, and Jimenez?  No way, I can't believe your going out on that limb with those picks.  Just joking.

Just a factoid on Kirkland, Steve Farhood talked about his troubles leading up to this fight in his article this week.  From what he wrote, Kirkland has basically been homeless and living out of his car leading up to this fight.  Kirkland was quoted as saying, "I basically been struggling.  I had to move out of my apartment.  Waking up out of my car and training, ain't had no training expense money, stuff like that.  I am basically just on a string right now."

That is very disturbing to me.  There may be more behind the story then meets the eye, but what is an undefeated fighter promoted my a major promoter (Gary Shaw) living like this leading up to a Shobox main event.  If I was Gary Shaw I would at least want to protect my investment by having him in the right mindset heading into the fight.  I have heard bad things about Gary in the past from people in the industry, but this is a joke.  I am not playing the fight, but I am going to be pulling for Kirkland.

LOL! I have a hack-saw in hand out on my chalky limb; which hovers above the thin ice. ; )

I may try a 1/10th of a unit against Kirk'. None of what I'm getting suggests he is right, though I would make him the legit fav' under normal circumstances. Still waiting for some Props.

Interesting to see Cally Brock & A.Gon' so heavy. Cally is at a 2nd Career highest Wight, A.Gon has added about 30 lbs in his last couple of fights, he is at his highest Weight. Love to get a Total for that. & Cally Brock has dropped by -1000 accordingly. However; it looks like pretty good weight (heavier in the Arms/Shoulders) to me.
