Missed it.  Did Pavlik look good enough to beat Taylor?  HBO says Miranda kept eating right hands.

Pavlik looked plenty good enough to beat Taylor. Taylor even dodged him a little after the fight saying "he didn't care if Pavlik was the # 1 contender he was going to fight whoever gave him the most money next and if it wasn't Pavlik he didn't care."

If Taylor's ego gets in the way and he tries to stand there and punch with Pavlik he will get his ass kicked.

nice pick, rod. Miranda kept lowering his left...like all the way to his belt. Pavlik beat the crap out of him every time. what a chump. Miranda needs a real trainer.

was wondering if i was the only one who caught that.  i think this fight has to happen next since he was the undercard and everyone got to see what he can do.  what will this fight be for pavlik....+300??  can't wait.

they looked bad because they didn't defend. It was a complete slugfest. Maybe you have boxing confused with wrestling or UFC. I guess boxers that leave their left hand down all fight look good to you. You like warlords, and I like boxers. Yay for you

And for the record, I didn't bet on that fight....great assumption.

Just know when I see 2 fighters that aren't very good. One can't defend and the other stands flat footed and gets away with a win because his opponent is mismanaged. Glad you enjoy the street fighting though...Mr Boxing Fan

Pavlik has a very very solid amateur pedigree.  His style is semi-awkward, but his game plan was to press, press, press, and back Miranda up all night; don't think it looked like street fighting to me.  He showed a solid jab moving in and went to the body well also.  To say that Pavlik is not very good seems very strange to me especially after tonight.  Miranda is raw with power, yes he did look like a street fighter tonight desperate to land something big, but I don't think it can be said for both fighters.

me neither and they did a good job of preparing because he usually doesn't fight that aggressively and back his opponents up.  they must have saw that it was obviously a weakness to miranda because he couldn't get any power behind his punches from that distance.  i thought it was a good fight by pavlik, but then again i am a casual fan so what the fuck do i know....

Yeah, I didn't think that I had seen you much in the boxing forum.  Boxing needs guys like you and fights like Pavlik-Miranda get casual fans interested in a fighter and excited about the sport.  You seem pretty knowledgeable for a casual fan, your contribution is a welcome addition to the forum.

thanks fullbrights...i like this kid a lot.  he's an ohio kid and i just hope they don't make him go through abraham or green or wright before he gets to taylor.  i think he deserved this shot a while ago, but definitely now.

    $600 EM via KO +130
    $1200 JT via D +140
    $200 EM via Dec +350

Nice pick Rod Congrats & to all KP backers, this kid does look good, but he is hittable, but give him all props he walked Miranda down and took heavy shots to land his and in the end he had the much better balance, stamina and determination to get it done. And in the main event, that snoozer was expected to go the distance, anyone who's seen Spinks fight knew that, and I cant even remember the last time that Taylor stopped anyone.
