A nice 4.2 billion dollar bailout of the marlins by the taxpayers, pretty friggin sweet.

Taxpayers shouldnt have to pay for this since the team basically lied about their finances.  Its time for the govt to start putting all these corporate crooks in jail, instead of being in bed with them taking kickbacks.

Damn unions...
If the Marlins didn't have to put out so much money for ballplayers they would have had more money for this project

Pretty much the same thing the Yankees did when they got their new stadium.

They had the taxpayers foot the bill and had appraisers file false reports of the actual cost and value of the land. They also claimed they didn't have the money to finance the new stadium.

Its sickening that the Marlins owners lied about what they made to have the taxpayers finance the stadium. And the taxpayers never get anything in return, they make nothing off of financing these stadiums and gain nothing of value for financing any of the stadiums that are built.

Miami-Dade County agreed – without the consent of taxpayers – to take $409 million in loans loaded with balloon payments and long grace periods.

even more amazing is that the fish only made their profits because they are subsidized by the yanks and other luxury tax teams

Sports team owners have been extorting from taxpayers, and cities for a long time.  It's nice when you can force some one else to pay for the house you work in.
They should be in jail on RICO charges.
