If Bruce Taylor can not go, or is quite hobbled, our run-stuffing ability will diminish. Tyler is a quality Mike (MLb); at least in terms of combating the run. Though he is second-string for a reason. I was set to predict us to win, and to play us accordingly. However, this is a critical injury in terms of fighting the initial Belly-play or the Keeper that Nesbitt runs so well right behind it up either A-gap.

Have to stew on this a bit, and see where Taylor is by Thursday AM.

Very informative post, let us know what you hear on Taylor.  The key to stopping the GT option is blowing up the A-Dive.  If you can do that, it forces the option outside quickly and allows the play to be strung out.  I thibnk VT wins regardless of Taylor's presence, but I don't know if they cover this spread.  GT has a very weak defense and will give up points, but they can score with you if you cannot penetrate the line in the gut.

Gonna be miserable weather for this game.  Rain and temps in the 40's.  I think this helps GT considerably.  Still don't think the Jackets win, but it's something to think about.

V. Tech has been rolling, covering and generally looking like the team I picked to win before the season started.  Miami is pretending, Clemson seems to have started their typical late season slide, NC took a blow to the head.......NC St and Maryland seem to be the inside track teams to challange, but they aren't capable of stopping a motivated and tuned up Hokie team!!

The spread seems a little high......but the Hokies can cover that, even blow them out.  This GT team isn't very good.  They have struggled all year with consistency and meanwhile, VT has been very consistent over the last 5 weeks.

Thought this would be at least 17.  Hard to see GT staying within 2 TDs at Lane Stadium on a Thursday night.  VT has had this game circled for 12 months.

Thursday night, Lane Stadium, ESPN...and the Hokies have been playing very well lately.  I do not think Ga Tech is very good at all.  Hokies might run away with this one quite easily

It seems like every time I bet on V-tech at home vs. Georgia Tech, Georgia Tech freaking upsets them.

The point spreads seems just about right.  G-tech having a down year whereas V-tech have been playing like gangbusters after their first two losses.

I'd say home team gets the nod due to superior DEFENSE and SPECIAL TEAMS (hey, this is a Beamer-coached team, right?) - but with that said, the point spread of 12.5 to 14 seems just about right.

The thing to keep in mind is... if at any point Georgia Tech gets any type of lead in the 2nd HALF, you're V-Tech bet would be

But the odds of that happening are debatable.

In all honesty, VaTech can destroy GAtech but here's one major issue,  this will be the best team they have played since NCstate.  I think the line is right.  This will be closer game here. GaTech covers.

Hmmmm.....

Looking at this game V. Tech is a good bet.  They're ATS is really good and even though they lost in the beginning to a division 2 team, the Boise St. loss was kinda expected considering the Boise may go the the championship game and even then they only lost by 3 points.  That's Boise's closest game of the year.

Also seeing those since those first 2 losses in the beginning, V. Tech has covered ATS and SU every game since then.

Gotta remember this V. Tech defense and special teams too will be hard to score against.

V. Tech should cover the -13pts I'm getting it at.  It should be at least by 14 and if it's going down, all the better for me!

Virginia Tech - 24                                  Georgia Tech - 21

Yellow Jackets +12                         under 56

Jackets are 3-1 last 4 vs the Hokies.

I'll take the points and hope they catch the Hokies looking ahead to the Tar Heels next week.

respect ga tech;s dangerous triple option ground-oriented attack,,but don;t mind laying the wood with revenge minded va tech squad ...last season ga tech dashed the hokies national title hopes when they simply could not get a stop in the second half plus coach frank beamer was upset about what he felt was some illegal crack-back blocks in that game..coach paul johnson says they just got out -schemed..va tech has had a couple of extra prep days for this triple option..when LSU had prep time in the peach bowl a couple of years ago they shut it down..in the ORANGE BOWL last season IOWA allowed only 9 first downs when beating ga tech ...va tech has scored 40 or more points in each of the past four games a first since michael vick;s 2000 team...so look for qb taylor and back evans now 85-90 percent a walter payton type runner to have a big night carrying the rock setting up play-action to wide out boykin..VT has had this game circled and will look to make a BIG STATEMENT after losing the opener on labor day night to BOISE STATE AND THEN HAVING A HANG-OVER VS JAMES DOLLY MADISON ...LANE STADIUM AT NIGHT..FORGET ABOUT IT.. VT   BIG...DID I SAY VT BIG..VT 38--13........GL.......

Aloha bdhpd!

We've got our Rover and our other Fs (we are playing two them quite a bit in our 30 or Nickle looks) both banged up in addition to B.Taylor. R.Williams is ~85%.

Weather is looking worse and worse as well. Supposed to snow here Friday and Saturday with rain tomorrow night (Thursday).

I won't be playing anything until tomorrow afternoon once I nail down the three hour window of game-play weather wise. I can tell you now that I will be very curious about GT in bad weather.

Thanks for the info bro

Bad weather can be bad news for that V-tech defense that will need to stop that triple option attack of GT. It will be hard for that VT defense to set the edges.

funny how you said possible snow... reminded me that the last time I played in snow was when I was stationed at Ft Lee Virginia.

Might just lay off this one but good luck my friend
