UCLA better team overall and will want to crush Oregon given the chippy play between these two teams in the last two games. UCLA actually has a legit home advantage in Staples where as it seems like they sure don't in Pauley sometimes due to the seats being so far away, the students not being on top of the action, etc. Bottom line is Oregon can't stop UCLA here while UCLA is one of the better defensive teams in the conference. UCLA shot 44% of better on offense in their two games and held Oregon to under 40% from the field in both games.
Good luck to all

Yes. His knee is a little messed up but it doesn't require immediate surgery. He can play through it, its more a pain tolerance thing.
Lee is going to play around 30 minutes according to Howland:
Although UCLA coach Ben Howland said there
is no risk of further injury, he plans to take Lee’s minutes per game
down to around 30. Lee is currently averaging 35.5 minutes per game.
"I don’t expect him to be hampered," Howland said. "I think he’ll be fine."
See more info here Prof about Lee's knee

Better hope that fat bastard center of yours can run the court. Is Howland going to put that pig on a diet or what? going to fade ucla here on in, they seem to choke a lot.

There are reasons to be wary of UCLA here: Anderson reportedly battling the flu, Tyler Lamb a little banged up... but one huge thing to like about UCLA is that this is the first week in a long time when PG Zeke Jones isn't listed on the injury report with his wrist injury. When he has been healthy he has been VERY effective, he could spark the team tonight. All of UCLA's size is still OK too down low (including Honeycutt, who it would be nice to see make a few shots consistently before he starts leaving his hand up on the follow through while he backpedals on defense)

Umm... Josh Smith has already lost like 25 points since he got into Howland's program. UCLA historically has a pretty good strength program for basketball. Look at the guys in the NBA: Westbrook, Love, Mbah a Moute, etc... all of them are Howland guys and are pretty strong (even a guy like Jrue Holiday saw pretty big improvement in his limited time). Can some of the strength gain they got be attributed to just getting older and bigger? Sure, but Howland has shown he will get guys in shape. Smith is still a young kid who has shown himself to be a hard worker in that he's already dropped 25. That shows work ethic.

I would take that "fat bastard" beating you down the court everyday.

What are your thoughts on the Total of the UW/WSU game? I'm leaning under, but I'm not sure if I want to pull the trigger.
UCLA looks good though!
I'd lean UNDER too but I don't have a strong feeling on that one. Tons, I mean TONS of free throws for both teams in the past 2 games they played... if the refs let them play the under could have value

Another thing to potentially think about if you like UCLA: Will Howland pull guys early if he has a decent size lead, leaving the backdoor open? I don't know if he has the option, we only got so many scholarship players and unless he's gonna put a walk on out there, he's gotta leave guys in who are used to getting PT

i will say this. the kid has some great hands down low in the post. just would like to see him lay off the cupcakes and mix in a vegi dish once in a while. with that size he no doubt is headed to the nba and a big paycheck. would hate to see a guy with all that talent eat himself out of the association. still fading the bruins, but best wishes.

Same to you, rtb
He does have fantastic hands, good size, and excellent footwork for a big man. He is definitely NBA bound, I'm just hoping UCLA can get a second season out of him

I don't disagree Lawson but I think the enmity between these teams will motivate UCLA to play well tonight. Significant HCA for UCLA here tonight too, even more than Pauley (you know its true Lawson)
