Blue Jays, Romero(Indifferent): he's a good pitcher but the Jays have finally settled down from their monster batting last week. Take the under.
Rangers, Padilla(Don't like): He's ok but Kyle Davies and the Royals are hard to bet against right now. Coco Crisp is 6 for 12 against Padilla. Texas has allowed 62 runs while losing seven of its last eight.
Mariners, Silva(Don't like): Curtis Granderson, Miguel Cabrera and Placido Polanco combined to go 12-for-19 last year against Silva. Tigers left fielder Carlos Guillen was 2-for-6, and is 17-for-35 (.486) with 14 RBIs in his career against him. The Tigers are playing good BB right now but Porcello will be a problem however Griffey, Beltre, and Sweeney are all underachieving.
Nats, Cabrera(Don't like): This is a ridiculous pick. Volstad is one of the top 10 pitchers in the league. He is a big mutha who can last forever. In his April 8 season debut, Volstad allowed two runs and two hits with a career-high seven strikeouts in five innings of a 6-4 win over Washington. Don't tell me you are taking the worst team in the MLB against the best team and possibly their best pitcher Volstad.
Braves, Vazquez(hate this pick): Chipper may not play and the Braves can't hit anything. Zach Duke is going for his 3rd win on the season and the Pirates are a different team this year with new pitching coach. Duke, Maholm, and Snell are all good pitchers. Duke's is 2-0 with a .59 ERA and 9 k's, why would you bet against this guy and the bucs are hitting great right now with McLouth, Laroche, Doumit, and company. I think the Pirates will have a good season this year, it's only the beginning and they are adjusting to finally winning games.
Reds, Volquez(i like this and the Reds): Last season, Volquez didn't have much of a problem dealing with the Astros (4-7), going 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA while striking out 14 in 13 2-3 innings. Both of those starts came at Minute Maid Park after the break. Paulino is a wild card and could give up 6 runs.
Rockies, Jimenez(I would like this if the Rockies weren't hitting .229 on the season: Jimenez will look to stay undefeated against the Dodgers and help the Rockies (4-6) avoid their first sweep to Los Angeles in nearly a year. The right-hander is 4-0 despite a 5.35 ERA in seven appearances - six starts - versus the Dodgers. The Dodgers have been hitting very well lately, I'm taking the team total over with ManRam back to his old self, Kemp, Hudson, Ethier. Dodgers could be the best team in baseball.
That being said, my picks are:
Florida
Reds
Royals
Dodgers team total over
Tigers
Yankees Run Line
Mets
Red Sox Run Line
Cards/Cubs under (It has been a high scoring series but Lilly and Wellemeyer should battle today)
