4. Tito Ortiz (+200) over Lil Nog. Risking 2 units to win 4 units. Plain and simple, if Ortiz uses his wrestling, he wins this fight. If he stands and bangs for any considerable amount of time, he will get picked apart. It is really hard to know where Ortiz's head is at at the moment. In some interviews, he talks as this is his last fight, in others, he talks about fighting Griffin again next year, then maybe he retires. IMO, there is no Griffin rematch if he does not get past Lil Nog.
5. Claude Patrick (Even) over Briane Ebersole. Risking 2 units to win 2 units. Hallman took Ebersole down and took his back so fast in Ebersole's last fight. If Hallman was not fighting with a bumb elbow, he would have finished that fight in under a minute. Because he could not use his left arm, he lost the position, and Ebersole GnP'd his way to victory. Patrick's grappling is even better than Hallman's. If Ebersole gives Patrick the same openings that Hallman took advantage of so quickly, Patrick will do what an injured Hallman could not do -- finish the fight.
6. Dennis Hallman (+160) over John Makdessi. Risking 2 units to win 3.2 units. Speaking of Hallman, it will be very interesting to see whether he can take Makdessi down. If he can, this will be Hallman vs Ben Saunders all over again IMO. If he cannot take him down, Makdessi will destroy Hallman in the standup and send Hallman packing from the UFC again. Speedo Incident + Missing Weight + Loss = Pink Slip!
7. Jake Hecht (+215) over Rich Attonito. Risking 2 units to win 4.3 units. I cannot get the image of Daniel Branch outwrestling Attonito out of my mind. That fight occured at middleweight. This is Attonito's second fight at welterweight. Attonito turned the wrestling tide around by outgrappling Daniel Roberts in his last fight. However, Hecht has better wrestling credentials than both Roberts, Branch and more specifically, Attonito. I have a solid feeling that we get Daniel Branch deja vu here, and Hecht gets a lay and pray decision win.

8. Chan Sung Jung (+385) over Mark Hominick. Risking 1 unit to win 3.85 units. Another value play. Jung says he is going back to the way he used to fight overseas, which is used his grappling to set up submissions. Most of Hominick's losses are by submission. It is also hard to know how the passing of Shawn Tompkins is going to effect Hominick once he steps inside the octagon.
9. Frank Mir - Big Nog under 1.5 rounds (+180). Risking 1 unit to win 1.8 units.

I lean Cholish, but I am not sure that I want to lay such high juice with him in this spot...

Thanks Hoff!
Philippou took the Catone fight on short notice and gassed terribly. Against Rivera, his cardio was a little better, but if failed him in the 3rd round, but so did Rivera's. Philippou did spend a lot of energy against Rivera in the first round of that fight where he rocked him bad but could not finish the fight, so I think that might be the reason why he gassed in the 3rd round. Hamman's cardio is pretty bad as well. I remember him huffing and puffing pretty badly against Kingsbury, and he was not looking so hot in the first round against CB either.
I am already on Patrick and Hallman. I am stilll watching the Lentz - Bocek line. The line on that fight is off from where I was expecting it to be. I am hoping it will move in my favour overnight before I lock in on a play...

10. Parlay of Mark Bocek over Nik Lentz, The PE over Igor Pokrajac, and John Cholish over Mitch Clarke. Risking 2 units to win 3.35 units.
11. I think bet365 screwed up their line on the Lil Nog versus Tito Ortiz # of rounds betting. They have this over 1.5 rounds for -175, where just about every other book has this fight at around the same juice, but at over 2.5 rounds. So, I am going to play this and see if they honour the bet. I have parlay Lil Nog - Tito Ortiz over 1.5 rounds and Xavier money line in college basketball over Cinci. Risking 2 units to win 2.05 units.
I might have some more round total plays later. Just waiting for Pinny to release their lines.
BOL to everyone with your plays!!! ![]()

Until Lil Nog learns how to defend a takedown, you just cannot lay juice with him against a guy with solid wrestling. Like I said, this fight really depends on Tito's mind set. If he wants to continue to fight in the UFC, he needs to win this fight. His smartest path to victory is to use his wrestling and GnP game.

I am hoping this card delivers, and that the people sitting around us know a thing or two about MMA.
