WEC 48 Plays - Can the loosing streak continue!?!

Well I dont know if this is good or bad but the only thing I plan on playing is Ben Hederson .I'm trying to get + money on him .Everyone at our site is on Cerrone or say Cerrone is going to win besides me.So we're either right on or crazy but we're going to sink or swim together.

Faber?  No disrespect bro, but I hope you have a bad night because you and I are against each other on Henderson/Cerrone and Aldo/Faber.  I just think Faber made a name for himself when the WEC was small and lacking good fighters and this new wave of fighters are better than him.  But hey, if you're right on that one, that would be one helluva call!!!

Hopefully we'll be on some of the same sides on May 8

I might very well be on the wrong side of both of these fights!

Here are a few reasons why I like Faber tonight:

We have seen a lot of unproven champions go down in the last couple of months.  Jose Aldo is very talented, but also very unproven.  His only "tough" challenger to date is Mike Brown.  Yes he destroyed him, but watch the fight again.  Look very closely at how hard Aldo was breathing just as the bell rang for round 2...

Where am I going with this?  I do not think this is going to be a cakewalk for Aldo.  I do not think he will be able to finish Faber early like so many others think.  Therefore, cardio is going to play a big factor in this fight.  Aldo was sucking air after round one against Brown.  Aldo has only been into the 3rd round once in his WEC career against Jonathan Brooks (Who?!?). 

Urijah is a cardio machine, has been in 5 round wars before and has proven his well rounded MMA game and adaptability in the cage in the face of adversity.  We have no idea how Aldo is going to react if Farber takes him down, which will also get easier if Aldo gasses out.  We have no idea how badly Aldo will be sucking air in the championship rounds.  Faber's home town advantage has seemed to through off his opponents in the past.  Will this also influence the judges if it goes to the cards? 

Based on these factors, I think there is some value on Faber tonight.  There are just too many unknown's about Aldo at this point to be laying that kind of chalk...

As far as the Henderson - Cerrone fight goes, I really think it is going to play out very similarly to their first fight.  Cerrone cannot defend a takedown if his life depended on it.  Yes, Cerrone has submission skills from the botton, but failed to put away Henderson numerous times when Henderson got sloppy on the ground.  That has got to eat away at Cerrone's confidence.

I really think that Henderson has trained hard to avoid these situations again.  As far as confidence goes, I think Cerrone's will be flushed down the toilet again very early in this fight when he is on his back again early and often and can't regain a solid position.  I feel like this fight will play out like a replay of King MO versus Mousasi, with the only difference being that Henderson finishes this fight!

You've got valid arguments for each fighter, in fact the fatigue thing  with Aldo is a concern of mine.  I bet him because his rise through the ranks and his fighting style, are reminiscent of Anderson Silva, it's been very quick and dominant.  I agree with you that the longer the fight goes, the more it begins to benefit Faber, but I just don't think it goes very long. 

Cerrone supposedly has been working on his wrestling with some Olympian wrestlers and he has also trained with Joe Stevenson and Clay Guida to improve his wrestling.  If he can somewhat neutralize that aspect of the fight, I think Henderson's gameplan goes to hell.  Even if the Cowboy spends significant time on his back, he's very dangerous from there.  I see Cerrone winning a decision.  Either way, tonight should be a great card, Enjoy the fights !!!

Unfotunately for us, that is pretty much what happened, except that Roller finished him in brutal fashion!
