Kelsey Plum’s move from the Las Vegas Aces is already making waves in the WNBA.

The Los Angeles Aces torched the Golden State Valkyries in their season opener behind 37 points from Plum, and are set to face the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday.

My Lynx vs. Sparks predictions believe Plum will likely be highly involved against one of the league’s top teams to close out the weekend. Here’s how my WNBA picks are betting on her second outing with her new team on May 18.

Lynx vs Sparks predictions

My Lynx vs Sparks best bet: Kelsey Plum 25+ points (+195 at bet365)

This bet might be a little ambitious, but this is one of the best times to take advantage of the books as they try to figure out Kelsey Plum’s ceiling with the Los Angeles Sparks.

Plum scored an impressive 37 points in 40 minutes in the Sparks’ 17-point win. Her workload makes it clear that Los Angeles is committed to making her the franchise centerpiece. She’ll continue to get plenty of shots in her new role.

Plum’s 37-point outburst was her second-highest point total ever. While her efficient 11 of 19 shooting night was strong, she also enjoyed plenty of success drawing fouls and sank all 11 of her free throws against Golden State. I expect her to bring the same aggression against the Minnesota Lynx.

Plum’s shot volume will likely be where it needs to be given the fact that she didn’t get any rest against an expansion team. She should get just as much exposure against a Lynx team that’s fresh off a WNBA Finals appearance.

Lynx vs Sparks same-game parlay (SGP)

Kelsey Plum 25+ points

Napheesa Collier Over 23.5 points

Lynx moneyline

Plum isn’t the only star in this matchup.

Napheesa Collier is off to a strong start after finishing second in the WNBA MVP odds last season and opened up the year with 34 points against the Dallas Wings. I can’t see her getting slowed down by a team she had plenty of success against last season.

Collier averaged 27.5 points per game against the Sparks last year and could have to be extra assertive against them this time around. Kayla McBride, who averaged 15.0 points per game as Minnesota’s lead guard last season, has been ruled out for personal reasons for the second time this season.

Minnesota will need to make up for the absence of her long-range shooting elsewhere, and Collier is the answer.

Both the team’s leading scorers should eat their fill on Sunday, but Minnesota remains the superior team. The Lynx have a chance to compete for a championship again this season while the Sparks are looking to rebound from a 8-32 campaign.

Minnesota’s experience and talent should secure a win for the favorite.
