The Fever are pushing the tempo and filling the bucket at a frantic pace. Look for Indiana's explosive offense to completely overwhelm the Sky to hammer the spread.

The Indiana Fever will look to rebound from a two-game losing streak as they visit the Chicago Sky on Sunday night.

Indiana's blistering offense will be too much for Chicago, and I'm taking the visitors to cover in my Fever vs. Sky predictions.

Read on to see my free WNBA picks — including a Caitlin Clark prop pick — for Sunday, Aug. 23.

Fever vs Sky prediction

Fever vs Sky best bet: Fever -3.5 -112

The Indiana Fever have the best offense in the WNBA, leading the league in scoring at 96.2 ppg. They're also the best shooting team from the field (48.8%), rank second from three-point range (39.0%), and are the league's most efficient offense at 1.03 points per play.

The Chicago Sky aren't great defensively (allowing 89.2 ppg), which is a problem in this matchup. I'm also concerned about their offense, as they are 11th in the league in offensive rating (104.8) and overall shooting (44.2%).

I'm backing Indiana to cover at spread of up to 4.5 points.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Fever have the highest true shooting percentage in the WNBA (60.8%), and should have a field day against a Chicago defense that allows opponents to shoot 44.2% from the field.

Fever vs Sky same-game parlay

The Fever offense isn't the only reason to expect lots of points tonight. By some pace metrics, these are the two quickest teams in the league, each averaging about 85 possessions per 40 minutes. We're going to see a lot of up and down action tonight, and I'm backing the Over.

With all that scoring, Caitlin Clark will have plenty of chances to help her Indiana teammates get buckets. Clark is averaging 8.2 assists per game for the season and has put up 9+ assists in five of her last seven games. The fast pace will make it easy for her to hit that target again tonight.

Fever vs Sky SGP +360

  • Fever -3.5
  • Over 186.5
  • Caitlin Clark Over 8.5 assists

Fever vs Sky player prop pick

Caitlin Clark Over 36.5 points + rebounds + assists -120

Clark is a key playmaker for the Fever, but she's also an elite scorer (21.7 ppg). She's gone for 20+ points in seven of her last eight games, while also grabbing 3+ rebounds in each of her last eight contests.

That's boosted her PRA totals. Clark has averaged 33.8 PRA for the season, but has gone above tonight's total in three of her last six games. And with the Fever offense set to put up big numbers tonight, Clark will fill up the stat sheet in several areas.

I'm taking Clark to go Over 36.5 PRA at -130 or better.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
