Marina Mabrey remains the engine of Toronto's offense, and in what projects to be a high-scoring affair, our best bet is backing her to create for others.

The Toronto Tempo will look to win for just the second time in eight games as they host the Las Vegas Aces as a +475 home underdog.

If Toronto is going to pull off the upset, Marina Mabrey will need to be at the center of everything offensively, which is why she headlines tonight's Aces vs. Tempo predictions.

Find out why I like her as a creator in my WNBA picks for Monday, July 20.

Aces vs Tempo prediction

Aces vs Tempo best bet: Marina Mabrey Over 3.5 assists (+135)

Marina Mabrey is the engine of the Toronto Tempo's offense, which is exactly why I expect Becky Hammon to make slowing her down the top priority tonight. Rather than letting Mabrey get comfortable as a scorer, look for the Las Vegas Aces to send extra attention her way.

That adjustment could actually work in our favor. Mabrey is more than capable of creating for teammates when defenses collapse, and this projects as one of the night's better offensive environments. Both teams rank in the top half of the WNBA in scoring, while each allowed at least 109 points in its most recent loss, creating plenty of opportunities for the Tempo's primary facilitator.

Mabrey averages 3.5 assists per game and has gone Over this number in three of six outings, with two other games ending on three assists despite inefficient shooting nights.

At plus money, I'll gladly back Mabrey to lean into her playmaking role.

Playable to +110.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Aces allow opponents to shoot 35.1% from 3-point range, the third-highest mark in the WNBA. If Las Vegas sends extra help toward Marina Mabrey, the kick-out opportunities should be there.

Aces vs Tempo same-game parlay

I'm backing Toronto to keep this one close as the Tempo wrap up a nine-game homestand with some added urgency after a difficult stretch. Las Vegas hasn't played in eight days, and that layoff could lead to a slow start against a Tempo team desperate to stop the bleeding. If Toronto can grab an early lead, the +11.5 becomes even more valuable.

That script also benefits Jackie Young's Under 3.5 rebounds. Toronto is a guard-heavy team that spaces the floor well, ranking among the WNBA's best from 3-point range. With fewer missed shots around the basket and the Tempo pulling defenders away from the paint, Young may struggle to find enough rebounding opportunities to clear this number.

A 30% profit boost increases this SGP to +877.

Aces vs Tempo SGP

  • Mabrey Over 3.5 assists
  • Young Under 3.5 rebounds
  • Tempo +11.5

Aces vs Tempo player prop pick

Jewell Loyd Over 1.5 threes (-140)

Jewell Loyd won't hesitate to fire from beyond the arc, making this a strong spot to back her against an Aces defense that has struggled to contain opposing shooters.

The veteran guard has logged at least 30 minutes in each of her last six games and has attempted five or more 3-pointers in nine of her last 11 contests.

With this matchup carrying a total north of 180 points, the volume should be there once again. Loyd has buried at least two triples in four of her last five games and eight of her last 10 overall, making this modest number well within reach.
