After a crushing home-and-home sweep at the hands of the WNBA-worst Connecticut Sun, the Washington Mystics try to stay in the playoff race when they host the Las Vegas Aces.

Our Aces vs. Mystics predictions and WNBA picks think that the low-scoring trend between these teams continues on Saturday, August 23.

Aces vs Mystics predictions

My Aces vs Mystics best betUnder 161.5 points (-110 at FanDuel)

The Washington Mystics are staggering down the home stretch, dropping seven of 10, capped by a 67-56 whipping in Connecticut.

That matches their lowest scoring output all season, and puts the Mystics two games back of 8th-place Seattle with eight games to play.

It’s not pretty coming home, either. Those should have been gimme wins against the Sun, and now Washington’s closing schedule features all but one team that’s currently in playoff position.

That includes Saturday against a Las Vegas Aces side that is looking for its 10th straight win.

The Aces have been doing major damage on both sides of the ball, averaging 88.3 points per game and limiting opponents to 77.9 points, both Top 3 marks over the last nine games.

Washington has won two straight in this head-to-head, but this is a matchup of two teams trending in wildly different directions.

If Connecticut can hold the Mystics to under 70 points in back-to-back games, the Vegas level- up could get ugly.

The Under has cashed in seven of the last 10 between these clubs, and I don’t think Washington will be able to get enough buckets to keep up, making that 161.5 scoring line a definite Under for me.

Aces vs Mystics same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 161.5 points

A'ja Wilson Over 22.5 points

Sonia Citron Over 15.5 points

The reigning league MVP, A’ja Wilson has been wearing out the opposition, going for at least 27 points in six of the last eight games.

She’s also been getting to the stripe, with at least six free throw attempts in each of those games. This is a gettable number for her Saturday.

Rookie Sonia Citron has emerged as the Mystics go-to offensive hub, leading the team in scoring nine of the last 11 games.

She’s also held up nicely against Vegas: save for a 9-point dud on July 10, Citron dropped 21 points in Vegas on June 26 and 19 points on May 23.
