Fight analysis
These guys fought way back in 2015, with Oliveira losing due to a neck injury early in the first round.
Both fighters went on to become champs, with Holloway boasting nine title fights at featherweight. He's looked great since moving up to lightweight, beating long-time contenders Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier.
Oliveira is an elite grappler with high-end submissions, but his wrestling isn't great. He'll have a tough time taking down Holloway, who has an 83% takedown defense and excellent distance management.
Oliveira has improved his Muay Thai, but his kickboxing isn't on the same level as "Blessed". Holloway is a high-volume striker with elite footwork, and he's more responsible defensively. His ability to avoid damage and land with precision will lead to a win against the hittable Oliveira.
Best bet analysis
Holloway's finishing ability is underrated since he faced so many highly durable fighters at 145. He seems to carry more power at 155 with a highlight reel KO against Gaethje and a knockdown against Poirier.
Oliveira tends to walk forward with minimal head movement, which has resulted in him getting rocked badly in multiple fights in recent years. He's more than willing to go out on his shield, and that reckless aggression should lead to a KO/TKO loss here.
