1999 (Golf): Needing only a double-bogey to win the Open Championship at Carnoustie, Frenchman Jean van de Velde triple-bogeys the the last hole. Paul Lawrie would go on to defeat van de Velde and Justin Leonard by 3 strokes in a 4-hole playoff to win his only major championship. Entering the tournament, both Lawrie and van de Velde were part of the 'Field' bet at +350 to win the title. Lawrie, who was down by 10 strokes entering the final round, completed the largest final round comeback in major championship history.
1999 (MLB): David Cone tosses the 16th perfect game in MLB history in the New York Yankees' 6-0 defeat of the Montreal Expos. The Yankees were -260 home favorites as Cone struck out 10 on just 88 pitches. It was Yogi Berra Day at Yankee Stadium as Don Larsen threw out the ceremonial first pitch to Yogi to commemorate Larsen's perfect game in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series.
2010 (Golf): As a 200-1 longshot to win the tournament, South African Louis Oosthuizen wins the Open Championship at St Andrews by 7 strokes over Lee Westwood. Since 1913, it was the 2nd largest margin of victory at the Open Championship behind Tiger Woods' 8-stroke victory in 2000.
