Detroit @ Atlanta Picks & Props

Detroit was blown out in the Hall of Fame game with QB Hendon Hooker going 3-of-6 for just 18 yards and a pick. He'll start on Friday and I expect a more efficient performance. Keep in mind that he also struggled in his first preseason appearance last year before playing extremely well and leading Detroit to wins in the final two preseason games. Having already played a game will be a significant advantage for Detroit's offense which should click from the opening snap. On the other side, Atlanta's attack could start slow with Easton Stick at QB. Stick is a poor passer working in a new offense and he was shaky in the preseason last year, completing 25 of 55 passes for 303 yards with three picks and five sacks. I don't trust the Lions on the full game spread due to Kyle Allen and a young and hungry Falcons defense but I like them to cover the 1H line.
