Louisiana-Monroe 22, Troy 20: Justin Manton kicked a 29-yard field goal with 2:08 remaining as the host Warhawks edged past their Sun Belt rivals.
Pete Thomas passed for 328 yards and two scores for Louisiana-Monroe (3-1, 2-0). Rashon Ceaser had a game-high 12 catches for 121 yards and Ajalen Holley hauled in both touchdowns for the Warhawks.
Brandon Silvers passed for 270 yards and three scores for Troy (0-5, 0-1) in his first game back from a concussion. Chandler Worthy had two receiving scores and Bryan Holmes added another in addition to seven catches for 97 yards.
The Warhawks squandered a 13-point lead in the second stanza after Silvers connected with Holmes and Worthy for a pair of touchdowns before the break. Holley's second touchdown catch with 3:05 left in the third quarter put Louisiana-Monroe back on top but a failed 2-point conversion attempt forced the Warhawks to settle for only a five-point cushion.
Worthy and Silvers hooked up for another touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to make it 20-19 but the Trojans also fell victim to a failed 2-point conversion. Thomas drove the Warhawks 57 yards in 13 plays to set up the go-ahead score by Manton - his third field goal of the game.
