This BC Lions secondary was lit up for 412 yards in their opener, but this Hamilton Tiger-Cats pass defense may be in even worse shape.
The Tiger-Cats are allowing 366 passing yards per game and now face Nathan Rourke, who threw for 408 yards and two touchdowns in his last trip to Hamilton and opened this season with 330 yards.
Bo Levi Mitchell can keep pace, but BC still possesses the CFL's most explosive passing attack when Rourke is healthy.
The Tiger-Cats responded to a season-opening loss with a win on the road vs. Winnipeg. Both aspects of the offense got going with Mitchell throwing for 287 and Rountree running for 124. I don't believe the Lions will be able to keep them in check, nor keep up offensively.
They were the league’s two most potent offenses a year ago, with the Lions putting up 31.1 points per game, with Hamilton right behind at 29.2. A few weeks into 2026, and these teams still haven’t seen an Under. Hamilton has gone Over the total twice, including their 37-27 shootout win over Winnipeg last week. BC crossed its 52.5-point line against Saskatchewan, and the scoreboard always gets a workout in this matchup.
