MIN vs LA Picks
WNBA Picks

Kelsey Plum's monster performance in the opener should be taken with a grain of salt, as it came against the Golden State Valkyries, the WNBA’s first expansion team in nearly 20 seasons. Tonight’s matchup is against a Minnesota Lynx team that allowed the lowest field goal percentage and lowest three-point percentage to opponents. Plum scored at least 22 points just 39 times over the last three seasons, reaching that mark in just over a third of her games played in that span. Coincidentally, Plum’s 40-point eruption in 2023 came against Minnesota, but that was her only 22+ point game against the Lynx in 15 matchups dating back to 2021.

Dearica Hamby grabbed 10 boards in the season opener, getting off to a great start in her third season with the Los Angeles Sparks. She averaged a career-best 9.2 boards across 33.7 minutes last season, and Hamby was on the court for a whopping 36 minutes against Golden State to open the 2025 campaign. Only Kelsey Plum played more minutes against the Valkyries, and with Cameron Brink sidelined until June, expect Hamby to play big minutes for the foreseeable future. Big minutes should mean big rebound totals, and I’m taking the Over after a productive 2024 and strong opener.
