Sonia Citron was a key contributor in the Washington Mystics’ upset win over the Dream, dropping 19 points in her WNBA debut. Citron scored 19 points on a blistering 6-of-7 field goals, 2-of-2 three-pointers, and 5-of-6 free throws. Citron logged only 24 minutes, but she got the start in her first game. After her big game, she’s expected to remain in the starting five. Shakira Austin was out against Atlanta, but her return shouldn’t take away from Citron’s shine. The third overall pick out of Notre Dame might not reach the 19-point threshold again, but scoring 11 is certainly within reach.
