Boston tends to respond emphatically after losses, and the trends back it up. They went an NBA-best 18-8 ATS in games after a loss during the regular season, most recently going 8-1 ATS in that spot. During their 2024 Finals run, they answered each loss with dominant wins of 20, 13, and 18 points. Philadelphia may be coming off a win, but they’ve struggled as underdogs overall, going 3-10-1 ATS since March 1. I expect the Celtics to pull away and win comfortably tonight.
The playmaking duties are mostly on LeBron's shoulders right now with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves out. He's cashed the Over in dimes in four of his last six, and he had 13 assists in Game 1 against Houston's inconsistent defense.
With the series swinging to Houston, Durant has extra days to strengthen that knee as well as drink in all the hate from the mainstream media. And when asked about how he should have dealt with the constant double teams from Los Angeles, Durant’s solution was to attack. That was his plan before the playoffs, when he exploded for more than 27 points on 54.4% shooting over his final 13 outings, leading the Rockets to a 10-3 SU mark in those games. He topped 23.5 points in all but two of those showings. The 12 FGAs in Game 2 tied his lowest shot total during that run and if Durant is a man of his word, he’ll get up at least his usual 17 attempts in Game 3. Projections sit as high as 28 points for a guy who’s averaged more than 29 points in the playoffs throughout his career.

Vassell has hit the Over in points in three straight games, and he's one of the players on the Spurs roster who will be relied upon to step up offensively with Wembanyama sidelined.
In 54 games alongside Wembanyama this regular season, Fox averaged 16.5 points. In 18 games with Wembanyama sidelined, Fox averaged 24.6 points. He attempted 4.2 more shots per game without Wembanyama on the court, including two additional 3-pointers per game.
Jalen Suggs is the Magic’s most consistent 3-point threat and has gone 3 for 10 from distance in each of the first two playoff contests. Nineteen of his total 20 shots from downtown have been either “open” or “wide open” with Suggs making good on just five of those attempts. Suggs’ shooting sees a surge at home, with his 3-point success jumping from less than 30% on the road to 37.4% in Orlando.
Game 3 projections aren’t bullish on Suggs’ shooting, pegging him for two 3-point makes. But with Detroit keeping its heels below the arc and Suggs shooting almost double his usual 3PAs, the opportunity is there to hit at least three treys – especially when you consider his shooting splits at home and a game script that has Orlando playing from behind.
In a series featuring physical defense, these 3-point threats get hot and help push the final score past this low total. Robinson and Suggs have each made three triples in the first two games of this Round 1 set.
Following the Suns' Game 2 loss, Devin Booker ripped the officiating crew and called out referee James Williams by name, calling him “terrible” and questioning his integrity. Dillon Brooks called Shai Gilgeous-Alexander “frail” and noted the lack of physicality in the current NBA. Both Booker and Brooks will surely be playing with chips on their shoulders, feeling slighted by the referees playing favorites and making unfair calls in favor of their opponents.
Booker’s comments triggered an investigation from the Association that found nothing to substantiate his claims, but the public call-out could lead to an overcorrection, and the refs may swallow their whistles.
The Suns can’t afford to lose this game and fall into an 0-3 hole, so I expect them to scrap and claw with a Thunder team missing SGA’s No. 2, Jalen Williams. I’ll take Phoenix to cover, and I like their chances of winning this one outright.
The Thunder and Suns have hit the Over in five of seven head-to-head matchups this season, including one of two games in the first-round playoff series. The 214.5 total is set a bit low for two offenses who can effectively put up points, especially if Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks are playing with extra motivation.
Devin Booker has scored 20+ in 13 straight games, averaging 26.9 points along the way. In that span, he scored 23+ in eight games and finished with exactly 22 points in four more. Booker averaged exactly 22.5 points in four matchups with the Thunder, hitting the Over twice and finishing with 22 and 21 in the other contests.
When the playoffs roll around, Jalen Brunson elevates his scoring to a new level. Since 2023-24, Brunson is one of just four players to average 30+ points per game, and he’s the only one to play in more than six games. With an average of 30.4 points across his last 34 playoff games, Brunson has a proven track record in critical games.
Josh Hart finished with just two points on 1-of-9 shooting in Game 3, and he’s got to be more productive. Improved scoring from New York’s starters is crucial, as the Knicks have lost two straight games by just one point. Hart scored 12+ in 18 of 33 road games in the regular season, and he’s due for a bounce-back performance in a critical Game 4.
Mikal Bridges has scored 21 total points on 8-of-22 shooting through the first three games of this series. That’s dreadful for a guy who was brought in to be the missing piece on a contending team. Bridges logged only 21 minutes in Game 3 in favor of Miles McBride (15 points), and I expect the benching and poor performance to motivate him in Saturday’s high-stakes matchup.
The T-Wolves will need their role players to stay hot this weekend to grab a 3-1 lead, and that means a neon green light for DiVincenzo, who’s nailed this points prop Over in all three games so far in the series.
That includes 11-for-22 shooting from downtown, and the Nuggets have struggled to contain his speed and quick release coming off screens and DHOs. This O/U line is right around his regular-season mark of 12.2 PPG, but Minnesota is asking even more of DiVincenzo without Ant Man at full health.
McDaniels didn’t hold back in blasting the Denver defense earlier this week – and then backed it up with 20 points in Game 3, capped off with a monster slam.
He also chipped in 10 boards on Thursday, while holding Jamal Murray to just 16 points. Put simply, McDaniels’ two-way play is a key to victory for Minnesota here.
