Last Meeting ( Jul 20, 2019 ) LA Angels 6, Seattle 2

After ending their three-game slide thanks to a ninth-inning rally, the Los Angeles Angels aim for a series win when they visit the Seattle Mariners on Sunday for the finale of their three-game set. Los Angeles, which won five straight out of the All-Star break before dropping three in a row, scored four runs in the ninth on Saturday for a 6-2 victory.

David Fletcher snapped a 2-2 tie with an RBI single and Mike Trout followed with a three-run homer for the Angels, who were outscored 27-4 during their skid. The blast was the American League-leading 31st of the season for Trout, who has belted seven of them against the Mariners. Omar Narvaez went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Saturday for Seattle, which has suffered six losses in seven games since the break - four of which have come against the Angels. Tim Beckham recorded one of the Mariners' other two hits to extend his modest streak to four games while Austin Nola notched the other to improve to 4-for-9 in the last three contests in which he registered an at-bat.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels LH Dillon Peters (1-0, 4.15 ERA) vs. Mariners LH Yusei Kikuchi (4-6, 5.01)

Peters is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to make his 12th career start and first this season in place of Andrew Heaney, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with inflammation in his left shoulder. The 26-year-old Peters made four relief appearances for the Angels earlier this year, allowing four runs and 10 hits with eight strikeouts and three walks in 8 2/3 innings. Three of those outings came against Seattle, including one on June 8 in which he recorded the victory despite permitting three runs and seven hits over 5 2/3 frames.

Kikuchi is 1-2 with a ghastly 10.91 ERA in four starts against the Angels this season, including a no-decision at Los Angeles last Sunday in which he allowed three runs on two hits and four walks over four innings. The 28-year-old native of Japan has served up six of 20 home runs allowed and issued 11 of his 37 walks versus the Angels while registering only seven of his 76 strikeouts. Kikuchi has gone 1-5 with a 7.29 ERA over his last nine turns, yielding five or more runs on five occasions while working more than five frames only twice.

WALK-OFFS

1. Angels 1B Albert Pujols has gone 7-for-14 with seven RBIs during his four-game hitting streak and has driven in 13 runs while hitting safely in eight of his nine contests this month.

2. Seattle sent RHP Hunter Strickland (lat), who made three relief appearances in March, to Triple-A Tacoma for a rehab assignment.

3. Los Angeles claimed LHP Adalberto Mejia off waivers from Minnesota.

PREDICTION: Mariners 7, Angels 5

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
