There's not much that separates these two teams in the standings, but the pitching matchup favors the Giants with Landon Roupp taking on Joe Boyle. Roupp will be making his first start since July 22, while Boyle was shelled in two of his three starts this season. I'll side with the home team here.

Joe Boyle has struck out batters at a very efficient rate this season. He has piled up 31 Ks through 30.2 innings of work and shown the ability to miss bats even when he doesn’t have his best stuff. In two of his last three appearances, for example, he recorded at least five strikeouts despite pitching only 3.1 innings. While he recorded just two strikeouts over five innings of work on August 3, that came against a powerhouse Dodgers team that ranks 2nd in OBP and homers. The San Francisco Giants…do not. San Francisco is one of the worst offensive teams in the majors. They sit tied for 24th in runs per game, 26th in average, 28th in SLG, and 29th in stolen bases.
