My Chelsea vs Aston Villa best bet: Over 3.5 goals (+160 at Sports Interaction)
Aston Villa travel to West London in excellent form. They have won each of their last 10 matches across all competitions and could equal their all-time club record of 11 consecutive triumphs, set in September 1897 and again in March 1914.
Chelsea sent mixed signals since the start of the current campaign. They are unbeaten in the three Premier League games they’ve played this season against teams starting the day above them in the table, beating Liverpool 2-1 (October), Tottenham 1-0, and drawing against Arsenal (both in November).
But they have already suffered two home defeats in the Premier League this season, losing to Brighton in September (1-3) and Sunderland in October (1-2). If they lose against Villa, they will have lost more home league matches this term (three) than they did in Enzo Maresca's first full campaign, 2024-25.
Villa are currently on a seven-game winning streak in the Premier League alone. Six of those games saw over 2.5 goals being scored. There have been more than 3.5 goals in Chelsea's previous two matches.
Also, at least three goals have been scored in each of the previous four direct clashes between Chelsea and Aston Villa. I'm counting on a spectacular match at the Bridge, and I'll take Sports Interaction's treat of +160 for my Christmas round best bet.

Chelsea's Premier League top scorers this season, Pedro Neto and João Pedro, have netted just five goals. After 17 games of a Premier League campaign, only on three occasions have Chelsea's top scorers scored fewer at this stage. I'm counting on Neto to show some hunger here.
Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers has been directly involved in more Premier League goals than any other English player across the opening 17 match days this season (ten – seven goals, three assists).
He could be the third Aston Villa player to score 2+ goals in three consecutive appearances in the competition after Dean Saunders (1992) and Dion Dublin (1998).
His excellent form can't be ignored. Against Man United on Sunday, he sent three shots on goal, also hitting the woodwork once. He scored twice.
Corners will play an essential role in this game, so I'm having the over 9.5. Both teams have averaged more than five corners per match this season. I'm rounding everything up with some cards. The over 3.5 looks solid given what's at stake.
