Is it time to start talking about the best college team ever? I want to hear from some of the doubters now. It's been awhile since I've seen a team this dominant on both Offense and D, and special teams too. I'd like to see how Ohio St stacks up with past teams when it comes to point differentials with regards to their leauge. The fact is that other than the Buckeyes, the Big 10 is pretty balanced, meaning that say the worst team, like Minnesota or NW or Purdue, could compete with any team except OSU, if they are at home. And top to bottom, is the Big 10 that much worse than the SEC? No. And the "blowout" vs Florida last year, what relevance does that have this year? If anything, OSU is using it as motivation this year. In the title game, Troy Smith was the Heisman winner, and the Heisman winner usually has a bad bowl game, for obvious reasons. He had the worst game possible. OSU had the better team, they played like shit. And as for the crowd, that isn't really gonna win games, it may help but you still have to play the game. It may factor in a close game but this OSU juggernaut is'nt gonna let a crowd stop them.

Best team ever? They haven't played anyone yet. The Big Ten is horrible. I will take the top 3 in the WAC (Hawaii, Boise State, and Fresno State) over the top 3 in the Big Ten (Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin or Purdue). When Ohio State finally played a good team outside their league last year, they got smoked by Florida. Just wait till the Buckeyes play Oregon in the title game. It's going to be blowout city. Oregon went to the Big House and beat the 2nd best team in the Big Ten 39-7. Let's see if Ohio State can go to the Big House and win by that margin. I predict the championship game to be- Oregon 38, Ohio State 14.

I thought we learned are lesson with all that crap with USC a couple years back and they were not even the best team in the country that year, Ohio state is verry good and right now they are the best team in the country, but that can change verry fast any given saturday, lets at least wait till the end of the year to have any discussion of this matter

E-Z on the best team ever shht, lets wait until they play an out-of-conference team in a bowl game before we talk about how great they are (ex: last years ohio st. team)

If college football was just invented this year then yes, ohio state is the best team ever. Unfortunately the game has been around for a while so this isnt the best team, not even close. The OSU championship team from a few years ago was better than this one.
And top to bottom, the Big 10 isnt even close to the SEC (and I'm a big 10 fan), Ohio State would come out of an SEC schedule with a minimum of 2 losses.

Ohio State hasn't played anyone and will not play a decent team this whole season.
Michigan looks like their biggest competition. That is a Michigan team that got beat by a Div. 1-aa team and then blown off the field at home by Oregon. Michigan had no speed at all on their team until they got to their Slow-10 schedule, and suddenly Michigan can't lose again.
Ohio State 2002 was one of the worst "national champion" team ever. 2007 Ohio State would be the worst "national champion" team ever.
Don't know who the best is, but one of the mid-90s Nebraska teams would beat this year's Ohio State something like 70-0.
Didn't like 1995 Nebraska beats its opponents an average of something like 56-7.

FSU 1999 has to be one of the best teams of all time...12-0 #1 from week #1 till the end....then they crushed vick and the hockies for the championship....

I said they could be the best ever, IF they continue to win and destroy teams. With their defense, they have shut down any good offenses, and Purdue, NW, Penn st, Minn, Mich st have put up some points vs other teams but very little vs the Buckeyes. A lot of people have a hard on for Oregon, but Ohio St would have very little trouble with them. They lost to Cal at home, who has turned out to be a fraud. Lsu and Oklahoma would be a good matchup for OSU but OSUs D is way better and they score some points too. Everybody says what about Florida, but the team last year beat Texas on the road, beat a good Iowa team on the road, beat Michigan the #2 team at the time, they were upset by Florida, upsets happen. The fact that it was a blowout doesn't mean shit now.

And as for the 95 Nebraska team, you wanna talk about a bullshit conference, the Big 8 back then was Oklahoma and a bunch of creampuffs, Kansas, K st, Missouri etc had bullshit programs and yeah Nebraska put up 70 points on them, big deal.
