and he's taking his brothers with him. Going to be a Stoops family take-over in Happy Valley. This has been kept very tight-lipped and Munchak is a name thrown around to keep the media spinning.
My source....Penn state donor/family member/current citizen and Doctor in State College, PA.
For those who remember, I predicted Stoops would take the Notre Dame job a couple of years ago. A job that was ultimately, given to Brian Kelly. I do know of one covers member who bet on Stoops to ND based on the bad intel that I provided and I refunded his bet later. I am not telling anyone to bank $ on this pick, just do not be surprised if you see it happen. And I'm ok with taking bashes...if this prediction has as much validity as my picks this year (in all sports), than this will probably not even make it's way to the media rumor mill.

Complete and utter ...wrong info. Their first choice was their proud alumni Mike Munchak. He turned it down. Why in the hell would anyone want jump on the Titanic after it hit the iceberg??

With the Big 12 in the state of flux that it is currently in, coupled with the success of the Big 10 channel and the Big 10 Conference expansion, I could see why the Penn St job could be an attractive move despite the media attention. Money and exposure.......
I also think there is a lot of new grumbling in Norman after the season Oklahoma had. Pre-season #1 and to not make a BCS game? That sort of underlines Stoops' failures in the many big games that OU has played in under his tenure.
There is no way they should of dumped the BCS title game to Florida and Tebow.....Oklahoma had the better of that matchup....confusion on the sidelines at the end of the first half and ill advised dive plays on 2 different 4th and short situations cost them big.
Not to mention USC destroying them (although that USC squad may have been one of the best ever top to bottom) and Boise St.and WVU making Stoops and company look unprepared at best, incompetent at worst.
"Big Game Bob"??? OU is solid year in and year out, but in the "big" games? He would make some big coin in a deal to Penn State.....I would bet Penn St would give him a few sheckels more than OSU gave Urban Meyer, just to make a statement.
It has been a while since OU has won it all.....Stoops can't live on that big upset vs the Seminoles 10 years back forever. A nice 5 year deal to PSU for 20-30 million total is a nice way to leave college football.
Never Make A Winner A Loser. Never.
