I don't post my personal picks very often but when I have they have been solid.
On what I consider the true Opening Day of the MLB season I like to take 3 solid pitchers from 3 solid teams and these pitchers must have a solid histrorical line against the team they are facing.
I've done this for at least the last 6 seasons have shown a profit for doing it. Strong pitchers typically are ahead of the hitters and they are used to being in the limelight and taking on the other teams ace.
With that said:
Halladay -165 with Kershaw -148 with Verlander -141
Hallday 3-1 with a 1.18 ERA vs Pittsburgh. Philly is 60-36 vs LHP the last 3 years.
Kershaw 7-3 with a 2.32 ERA vs San Diego and in 2 of his last 3 starts vs SD he went the distance. Giving up only 5 runs in 26 1/3.
Verlander only 3-2 with a 3.22 ERA but Lester is 0-2 and 5.89 vs Detroit. I'll roll the dice against Boston here and look for Verlander to do to them at Detroit as he did last year. Shutout against Beckett 3-0.
So what does this star studded parlay pay? 3.6 to 1
A $100 wager returns $360 to the good guys.
Win or Lose this will likley be one of the very few MLB posts I make all season.
Good Luck and Enjoy the games!
