When I mentioned on another thread someone explain to me how our 75 or so years of pollution compares to millions of years of volcanoes erupting combined with cyclical natural land burns caused by lightning all I got was CRICKETS.
I admit we have a de-forrestation problem that effects the earths ability to scrub pollutants out of the air, still doesnt compare to millions of years of volcanoes erupting.
GLOBAL WARMING IS A FARCE.

Thats odd! NOTHING BUT CRICKETS... STILL!

Please tell me what those levels were 500,000 years ago then I can respond![]()

I can answer this.... The cause is internal combustion engines. These are causing the problems. Nothing more nothing less.

False. If you made a more significant attempt at using your brain, ignorant, idiotic responses like this would come from you far less often.

I will use your own reference to counter your point. This is taken from one of the charts on your link.
Changes in carbon dioxide during the Phanerozoic (the last 542 million years). The recent period is located on the left-hand side of the plot, and it appears that much of the last 550 million years has experienced carbon dioxide concentrations significantly higher than the present day.
Not only does this bolster my point about volcanoes, but it further demonstrates that Mr hoops dreams claim that my point was invalid was as far off the mark as possible.
Furthermore I don't understand how Antartic Ice Core samples can correctly and accurately depict co2 levels around big cities with known high concentrations like LA or other big cities. Seems to me that Antartic Ice Core samples would not correctly depict global co2 levels at any time period.

ruffcutter, this is from your link...
Past studies of gases trapped in Greenland and Antarctic ice cores have suggested that Earth's temperature can sometimes change amazingly fast, warming as much as 15 degrees in some regions within a couple of decades. At the same time, there are concerns about the change of major ocean currents, such as those in the North Atlantic Ocean, that are responsible for the comparatively mild climate of much of Europe. If that "thermohaline circulation pattern" were to abruptly shut down, as has happened at times in the past, it could plunge much of the European continent into a climate more closely resembling that of central Canada.

Right, and that ocean current change may result from ice melts in greenland.
Thing is, the whole "global warming is a fraud" is just as asinine as"we must cut greenhouse emissions or we all will die"
The truth is likely in between, where our activities are likely contributing to some of the climactic changes we are seeing.

Hey, you know what, a woop thread is the last place in the world one should have a scientific discussion.
I just came in here to point out how utterly idiotic he is to post short term relatively localized weather reports to "prove" global warming is a fraud. And he does it on a regular basis.
