Computer Help - Is this any good?

What's good everyone,

Looking to upgrade my equipment and get a desktop to go along with my laptop. My room mate has a old computer he said he would sell me, it's called a HP Pavilion Elite m9000.it or something along those lines.

Specs:
-Up to 2.4 ghz
-4 core's (processors? lol)
-1 TB Hard drive
-4 GB memory

I know next to nothing about computer specs... But this will be mainly if not only used for my sports research for bets, streaming live games, and all that junk. I will have a duel monitor setup and the room mate said that's all he used so it will work for that. Basically, is this a legit computer? For more info you could google the name (Didn't want to link it, still not 100% sure on whats allowed here).

Any info or opinions would be appreciated!

for how much? heard of dual core, but 4 core?  what is that?  1TB is huge!

A price would help out also.
