Our best NHL player props for Tuesday, December 23
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Owen Tippett Over 2.5 shots on goal
The Chicago Blackhawks allow the fourth-most shots per game (30.6) while ranking 28th in Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5, so this sets up as a cushy matchup for the Philadelphia Flyers and winger Owen Tippett to pile up shots on goal.
Tippett registered 10 shots on 11 attempts last time out, and while there’s been massive game-to-game inconsistency in his shot volume throughout the season, he still ranks in the 88th percentile of shots on goal among forwards.
Additionally, his team-high 17.04 attempts for the campaign lag behind last year’s 20.66 mark, so I’m anticipating the 11-attempt breakout to kick-start an uptick from Tippett.

Prop #2: Noah Hanifin Over 2.5 shots on goal
Vegas Golden Knights blueliner Noah Hanifin ranks fourth in shots per 60 minutes among defensemen, and he’s quarterbacking the No. 1 power-play unit with Shea Theodore (upper body) out of the lineup.
Add Hanifin collecting three or more shots in 14 of 24 games this season to the San Jose Sharks allowing the most shots per game (31.6) and second-most attempts per 60 minutes at 5-on-5, and Hanifin is positioned to rack up 3+ shots again Tuesday night.

Prop #3: Kevin Fiala Over 2.5 shots on goal
While the Seattle Kraken may have won consecutive games, they’re still reeling along a 3-9-1 stretch while allowing the second-most shots per game (31.5) and fourth-most attempts per 60 minutes at 5-on-5.
So, this is a soft matchup for Los Angeles Kings winger Kevin Fiala to pile up shots.
He’s recorded three or more in nine of his past 12 games while pacing the Kings in both shots and attempts, and I value his role on the No. 1 power-play unit and solid 53.1 Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5 during the noted 12-game run.
