Jets vs Capitals Best bet: Kyle Connor anytime goal (+160)
Although the Winnipeg Jets aren’t quite where they want to be at this point in the campaign, it is certainly not due to the play of forward Kyle Connor, who has scored eight goals over the past 14 games.
That success will continue against the Washington Capitals, against whom Connor has scored five goals over the past 12 meetings. Furthermore, Washington has struggled to suppress high-danger scoring chances this season.
The Capitals currently rank 21st in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60). They have also received inconsistent goaltending from Logan Thompson, who is projected to get the nod.
Thompson started the season in outstanding form, but has since begun to falter behind this poor blue line. Washington’s netminder has now allowed four or more goals in three of his past five starts, posting a fade-worthy .863 save percentage and 3.65 goals-against average over that stretch.
Those issues could continue against Winnipeg, a team Thompson is 0-0-2 against with a .855 save percentage and 3.89 goals-against average over the past two meetings.
