Sebastian Aho is off to a great start to the season, leading the Carolina Hurricanes in both points and assists.

Playing on a stacked top line with the two best goal-scoring wingers on the roster, my Hurricanes vs. Wild predictions see Aho picking up another helper on Wednesday night.

Let’s break down my November 19 NHL picks.

Hurricanes vs Wild prediction

Hurricanes vs Wild Best bet: Sebastian Aho Over 0.5 assists (-105)

Sebastian Aho is tied for the Carolina Hurricanes lead in assists with 11. He’s getting put in great spots to continue piling them up, centering Seth Jarvis and Andrei Svechnikov on the top line.

Jarvis leads the team in goals while Svechnikov sits third. The two of them have combined for 16 goals through 19 games, good for an average of just under a goal per contest between the two.

The Hurricanes have absolutely steamrolled opponents with that trio on the ice at 5-on-5. They’ve controlled 71.7% of the expected goals, which is the highest mark in the league among the 88 combinations that have spent at least 60 minutes together.

Their dominance at even-strength is important to note heading into a game against the Minnesota Wild. They do not take many penalties, making 5-on-5 prowess that much more important for opponents.

Minnesota is dealing with a few injuries up front, most notably to centers Marco Rossi and Ryan Hartman. That makes them very vulnerable down the middle and more susceptible to being hemmed into their own zone.

Look for Aho to take advantage.

Hurricanes vs Wild same-game parlay

Jarvis leads the Hurricanes in shots on goal during 5-on-5 play. The matchup is very nice as, during that game state, the Wild rank 24th in shot suppression over the last 10 games.

Jarvis hasn’t scored in a season-long stretch of four straight games. The volume should be there and he plays with Aho in all situations — yes, even on the penalty kill — making him a likely candidate to score if Aho picks up a helper.

Sean Walker has registered multiple shots on target in 13 of 15 games without Jaccob Slavin in the lineup.

Hurricanes vs Wild SGP

  • Sebastian Aho Over 0.5 assists
  • Seth Jarvis Over 2.5 shots on goal
  • Seth Jarvis Over 0.5 goals
  • Sean Walker Over 1.5 shots on goal
