Canucks vs Avalanche Prediction, Picks & Same-Game Parlay for Tonight’s NHL Game

The Avalanche are suddenly dealing with a slew of injuries up front, which will help the Canucks stay in tonight's game at Ball Arena. Look to center Elias Pettersson to lead the charge while peppering the Colorado net.

The Vancouver Canucks wrap up their four-game road trip against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena on Tuesday, December 2.

My top Canucks vs. Avalanche predictions and NHL picks are headlined by Vancouver star forward Elias Pettersson.

Canucks vs Avalanche prediction

Canucks vs Avalanche Best bet: Elias Pettersson Over 1.5 shots on goal (-150)

Vancouver Canucks center Elias Pettersson has been a more willing shooter over the past six games and recorded two or more shots four times for 17 total on 33 attempts.

He’s cemented into the No. 1 center role while averaging a monster 21:35 of ice time per night during the six-game stretch, which includes skating with the top power-play unit (5:15 per game during the run).

Additionally, the Colorado Avalanche are dealing with multiple injuries up front, and Nathan MacKinnon, the betting favorite in the Hart Trophy odds, missed practice Monday with an illness.

While his status for this Tuesday tilt isn’t set in stone, it would obviously be a bonus if he didn’t suit up or played while feeling under the weather.

With the injuries piling up, the Avs have been a little more vulnerable the past five games, allowing an average of 29.0 shots against per game. Colorado has also, uncharacteristically, allowed 35+ twice.

I’m anticipating Pettersson hitting the net at least twice on Tuesday at Ball Arena.

Canucks vs Avalanche same-game parlay

This is the final leg of a four-game road trip for Vancouver, and each of the first three has been a one-goal finish. The Canucks have also played better on the highway (7-6-2), and the Avs are dealing with a slew of injuries up front.

Colorado has also played to the Under in four of its past five games, while Vancouver has played sound defense, with just five goals surrendered across its last two games. The Avalanche also have trended toward the Under, with 48 of their past 89 games going below the number.

Of course, the Avalanche have also allowed the fewest goals per game (2.08).
