The St. Louis Blues host the Boston Bruins in the evening portion of Tuesday’s NHL slate.

St. Louis enters this matchup in good form, and my Bruins vs. Blues predictions expect this trend to continue.

Bruins vs Blues prediction

Bruins vs Blues Best bet: Blues moneyline (-150)

The St. Louis Blues have won four of their past six games, a trend that is likely to continue against a banged-up Boston Bruins team. The Bruins’ two best skaters, David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy, are each currently nursing injuries.

Pastrnak has missed the past five games with an undisclosed injury, and while he suggested this week that he will return in this matchup, it remains to be seen how close to 100 percent he actually is.

Meanwhile, McAvoy has been sidelined since mid-November after taking a puck to the face against the Montreal Canadiens.

McAvoy is also expected to return to the ice soon, although his status remains in doubt against the Blues. Regardless of whether one or both of these guys play, it doesn’t change the fact that the Bruins are one of the worst analytical teams in hockey.

This season, Boston ranks 29th in expected goal share. It has struggled on both ends of the ice, ranking 23rd in expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60) and 30th in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60).

Bruins vs Blues same-game parlay

If St. Louis is to win this game, it will need some goal production. There may not be a better candidate than Dylan Holloway, who scored in the Blues’ 4-3 victory their last time out.

Brayden Schenn assisted on that goal, and there is a strong correlation for him to do so again considering he skates alongside Holloway on both the third line and second power play unit.

Bruins vs Blues SGP

  • Blues moneyline
  • Dylan Holloway anytime goalscorer
  • Brayden Schenn 1+ assists
