Our expert is backing Carolina in his early leans for the Panthers vs. Eagles on Sunday, Oct. 18.

The Carolina Panthers come off a bye week to face a Philadelphia Eagles team that was in England last week and lost its third straight game.

My early Panthers vs. Eagles prediction and NFL picks suggest Carolina's offense will keep rolling against an injury-depleted Philly team.

The game kicks off from Philadelphia at 1 pm ET Sunday, Oct. 18, on CBS.

Early Panthers vs Eagles moneyline pick: Panthers

Kalshi probability: 49%

The game is at Lincoln Financial Field, which is likely why the Philadelphia Eagles are a slight favorite.

However, backing the Carolina Panthers as underdogs against this Philly team is a no-brainer. I’d keep Carolina straight up until 53%.

The Eagles have lost three straight and haven’t scored more than 24 points yet this season. Only the lowly Titans are averaging fewer yards per play on offense than Philly, which ranks 30th in the NFL in EPA per play on offense and 31st in offensive success rate.

The defense has been better, but Jacksonville's 19 points last game were the Eagles’ best outing of the year.

Philly ranks 22nd in EPA/play on defense and 22nd on defensive success rate. That’s a troubling sign against the Panthers, who have the NFL’s passing-game leader, breakout quarterback Bryce Young.

The Eagles might get back Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith for this game, which will help the offense but likely won’t be enough to keep pace with the Panthers.

Early Panthers vs Eagles total pick: Over 41.5

Kalshi probability: 51%

The Panthers have topped 30 points in three of their four games this season and are eighth in the league in EPA/play on offense.

They’re fifth in yards per play and sixth in passing EPA. Philadelphia has given up 300 passing yards and 400 total yards in each of the last two games.

When the Eagles have the ball, Jalen Hurts could have Smith back as his top target. Even more helpful is a Panthers defense that has both starting cornerbacks on injured reserve.

With Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson out, the Panthers relied on rookie Will Lee and special teamer Akayleb Evans. The Lions targeted Evans 15 times, and he allowed 12 catches for a PFF coverage grade of 27.3.

Practice squadder Robert Rochell and nickelback Chau Smith-Wade can also fill in, but the Eagles should be able to put up points.
