The Virginia Cavaliers will look to make it six straight wins when they visit Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday afternoon.

UNC found a way to win last week, but it's severely outmatched in this game, which is why I’m taking the Cavaliers to cover in my Virginia vs. North Carolina predictions.

Virginia vs North Carolina prediction

Virginia vs North Carolina best bet: Virginia -10.5 (-110)

North Carolina has been one of the biggest stories in college football this season, but for all the wrong reasons. Belichick’s foray into college football has gone horribly wrong so far, as the Tar Heels sit at 2-4 and have yet to score a win against a power conference opponent.

Things only get harder this week as the Tar Heels face their first-ranked opponent in Virginia, which enters this game riding a five-game winning streak. While the Cavaliers have played a couple of close games in recent weeks, they’ve been outstanding offensively, averaging an impressive 40.0 ppg on the season.

That presents two issues for the Tar Heels. First, North Carolina is unlikely to keep up with that kind of offensive firepower, as it's averaging just 12.8 ppg against power-conference opponents.

Secondly, the Tar Heels have given up 240.8 yards per game through the air while letting opponents complete 67.3% of their passes, giving the Cavs a clear avenue of attack in this game.

Quarterback Chandler Morris and the Virginia offense should shred the UNC defense, putting this game away early.

Virginia vs North Carolina same-game parlay

The Tar Heels have consistently played a low-scoring brand of football, to the point the Under is the better play even against an explosive Virginia offense.

But the Cavaliers will find success against a dreadful North Carolina secondary, with Harris being a solid pick to hit his modest yardage total as a result.

Our deep-ball SGP: Feeling Trell

Since we’re already betting on a strong performance out of Harris, it makes sense to tack on a bet for the wide receiver to score a touchdown for added value on our parlay.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
