As the new Pac-12 enters its first season, there's one clear juggernaut above the rest that should be in position to win double-digit games. But the conference is also home to one of the country's most slept-on CFP contenders.

For the first time since 2023, the Pac-12 is home to more than two teams, and it's now set up to be arguably the country's top Group of 6 conference.

In a conference with just eight programs, one team stands out as the obvious best to target for 2026 Pac-12 win total predictions: Boise State. The Broncos remain the standard that all G6 programs hope to reach, but they're not the only Pac-12 team to be bullish about this season.

Note: The Pac-12 is using the final week of the regular season (Week 13) for flex games in hopes of bolstering one of its teams' CFP resume by setting up a big matchup. These games will not count toward conference standings.

Boise State Over 8.5 wins (+150)

Even in a down year by its standards, Boise State won the Mountain West title on its way out the door last season. Head coach Spencer Danielson has won a conference title in each campaign he's led the Broncos, including with the interim tag in 2023. So anything less during his first Pac-12 season will be a failure.

Luckily for Danielson, his team returns plenty this season. Boise State is top 50 nationally in returning production (57%) and it boasts a steady hand in QB Maddux Madsen, whose 26 starts make him one of the nation's most experienced signal-callers.

And while Madsen isn't the most talented passer in the conference, he does have the most dynamic backfield behind him. Dylan Riley and Sire Gaines (who combined for over 2,100 yards from scrimmage in 2025) give Boise State arguably the best running back duo in the G6. They'll be running behind the best offensive line in the conference, especially with the addition of Tyler Ethridge (Colorado State-Pueblo).

The defense will also be one of the best in the G6 again, with Jayden Virgin-Morgan and Max Stege pairing as the scariest edge duo in the Pac-12. Plus, Danielson loaded up on defensive backs in the portal, with JeRico Washington Jr. (Kennesaw State) as the highlight.

In the last 27 years, Boise State has won 9-plus regular-season games 20 times under six different head coaches. It's the definition of a well-oiled machine.

Texas State Over 6.5 wins (+120)

The most geographically out-of-place team in the Pac-12 is Texas State, which moved from the Sun Belt to a conference where its closest opponent is about 1,000 miles northwest in Fort Collins, Colorado.

But even though the Bobcats don't make sense geographically, they sure do stylistically, at least with what the Pac-12 used to be known for in its glory days.

G.J. Kinne's offense might be the best in the Group of 6 this season. The bulk of the players who helped the team put up 36.5 points per game last year are back, with Texas State ranked No. 12 nationally in returning offensive production (70%).

Leading the way is QB Brad Jackson, who was one of just five QBs in the country last season to put up an adjusted completion percentage above 78%, with a big-time throw rate above 5%. He's also one of the best dual-threats in the country after running for over 700 yards with 17 TDs in 2025.

Jackson's top pass-catching threats, Beau Sparks and Chris Dawn Jr., both return too after combining for over 2,200 receiving yards last season. That trio should make up for Texas State's below-average defense and help Kinne win Over 6.5 regular-season games for the third time in four years.

Favorite Pac-12 Under win total bets

Colorado State Under 3.5 wins (+125)

There's been a belief for years that Colorado State is a G6 sleeping giant because of its resources, and now Jim Mora Jr. is trying his hand at unlocking the Rams as they enter the Pac-12.

Though the hire of Mora, who was 27-23 at UConn, was a solid move to revamp the program, this is more of a Year 0 than a Year 1 in Fort Collins. Colorado State is ranked 99th nationally in returning production (46%) and plays one of the toughest schedules in the G6. That includes facing both BYU and UTSA in non-conference games.

The Rams are also banking on Hauss Hejny at QB, who has played just 40 career snaps across stops at TCU and Oklahoma State. An inexperienced QB with a new coaching staff playing behind an offensive line nearly entirely made up of transfers is a recipe for disaster in a strong Pac-12.

Colorado State has won fewer than four games in three of the last five seasons and has gone 29-60 since 2018.

Washington State Under 4.5 wins (+130)

Few teams have dealt with as much change as Washington State in recent years, and I'm not even talking about the Cougars getting ditched by every team in the old Pac-12 not named Oregon State.

The newly hired Kirby Moore is the fourth full-time head coach of the Cougars since Mike Leach left following the 2019 season. Moore takes over a team that reached a bowl game in Jimmy Rogers' lone season last year, but it lost pretty much everything in the transfer portal.

Wazzu is last in the Pac-12 in returning production, No. 109 nationally (42%), and it's relying heavily on a sophomore FCS transfer at QB in Caden Pinnick to raise the floor. And while the defense is theoretically in better shape, it's projected to start more than a half dozen transfers.

To make matters even tougher on Moore, Washington State has one of the harder schedules in the conference thanks to non-conference matchups with Washington, Kansas State, and Arizona.
