The Ohio State Buckeyes enter this matchup playing at one of the most efficient offensive levels in the country, averaging nearly 96 points per game while shooting 56% from the field and over 40% from three.
Their pace is pushing every opponent into a track meet, and with the Buckeyes getting more than 25 free-throw attempts per game, there are plenty of clock-stopping scoring opportunities.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish defense hasn’t faced anything close to this level of firepower, and their perimeter coverage has been shaky, which should allow Ohio State’s guards to generate clean looks all night.
Notre Dame can also contribute to this total, with Markus Burton carrying a 19-point average and multiple shooters hitting above 40% from downtown.
The Fighting Irish move the ball well enough to exploit Ohio State’s average pick-and-roll defensive schemes. With Ohio State games averaging around 170 combined points, I’m firmly on the Over.
