Georgetown hosts Marquette in a Big East matchup between two teams playing ugly basketball. The total sits at 150.5, but neither struggling offense can crack the other's half-court defense.

My Marquette vs. Georgetown predictions and college basketball picks tell you why I'm eyeing the Under on Tuesday, February 24.

Marquette vs Georgetown prediction

Marquette vs Georgetown best bet: Under 150.5 (-116)

This should be a grinder.

The Georgetown Hoyas rank in the 93rd percentile defending dribble jumpers and 94th percentile on perimeter cuts.

These two actions are the ones that the Marquette Golden Eagles lean on most. Georgetown just battled through a 51–47 grind against Seton Hall, and it wouldn’t be surprising if this one plays out in a similar fashion.

On the flip side, Marquette's defense holds opponents to 0.63 PPP on mid-range actions (90th percentile) and 0.91 PPP on perimeter cuts. Places where the Hoyas thrive.

Neither team can generate easy half-court looks against the other. Take the Under.

Marquette vs Georgetown same-game parlay

Someone has to win, and Georgetown is a better team across the board.

Beyond that, Marquette has been destroyed on the backboard by almost any team with a pulse, and a top 100 offensive rebounding rate for the Hoyas should serve them well in such an ugly game. Hoya's moneyline is the first leg of my same-game parlay because of that.

I paired it with Vincent Iwuchukwu to reach eight rebounds. He’s hands down the best offensive rebounder on the floor for Georgetown and should be able to profit because of that.

Marquette vs Georgetown SGP

  • Vincent Iwuchukwu Over 7.5 rebounds
  • Georgetown moneyline
  • Under 150.5

Our beyond the arc SGP: Hoyas stifle James

It would make sense to take the highest points total on the board and play an under, given my projected game script. That’s exactly what I’m doing.

Nigel James Jr. has been on a recent hot run with 25 and 30 points in the last two games. However, he went Under this number in the three straight games prior to that.

I’m selling high here as a consequence. He’ll face one of the better dribble jumper defenses he’s seen, and that’s an area where he relies on a ton of scoring production from.

Marquette vs Georgetown SGP

  • Vincent Iwuchukwu Over 7.5 rebounds
  • Georgetown moneyline
  • Under 150.5
  • Nigel James Jr. Under 18.5 points

Marquette vs Georgetown odds

  • Spread: Marquette +3.5 (-110) | Georgetown -3.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Marquette +140 | Georgetown -165
  • Over/Under: Over 150.5 (-110) | Under 150.5 (-110)
