Raptors vs Warriors picks and predictions

Our predictions are compiled from the analysis of the spread and total and are indications of where we are leaning for this game.
Our best bet is the play that we like the most for this game, which we would actually put some of our bankroll behind.

The Warriors have the league's best record at 14-2 and have gone 11-4-1 ATS. They're coming off a 105-102 road win against the Pistons on Friday despite sitting out multiple players including MVP favorite Stephen Curry. Curry is expected to be back in the lineup tonight and the point guard leads the league in scoring with 29.5 points per game on 46/42/96 shooting.

With Curry leading the way, the Warriors are once again one of the top-scoring teams around, ranking third in the NBA in offensive rating. Their play on the other end of the floor has been a bigger surprise with the Dubs having the best defensive rating in the NBA.

The Raptors are fresh off a 108-89 win over the Kings but have gone just 2-6 SU and ATS in their last eight games. Toronto was playing some hard-nosed ball at the start of the season and was expected to improve when Pascal Siakam return to the lineup. That hasn't been the case with the Raps losing in Siakam's first five games back on the court.

However, Siakam broke out with his best game of the year against Sacramento, dropping 32 points on 10-12 shooting while adding eight rebounds and a pair of blocks. With the All-Star power forward starting to look like his old self, the Raptors' length and athleticism won't make them an easy out, even against a team as good as Golden State.

With the Raptors going 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games as an away underdog and also going 5-2 ATS in their previous seven meetings with the Warriors on the road, take them to cover this hefty spread.

Prediction: Raptors +9 (-110)

A big key to the Warriors success this season has been their terrific play on defense where they hold opponents to just 100.9 ppg. Draymond Green has once again been a rock but Curry and forward Andrew Wiggins have also shown vast improvement on that end of the floor while Gary Payton II and Andre Iguodala have been lockdown defenders off the bench.

The Raps have shown some cracks in their defense over the last week but they are coming off a strong performance against the Pistons, holding them to 89 points on 38 percent shooting, and they have the personnel to defend at a much higher level.

Toronto also plays at the third-slowest tempo in the league and will likely try to slow down the pace of the game in this one as they try to limit the Warriors' possessions and make them work for shots in the halfcourt.

The Dubs lead the league with 17.2 ppg on the fastbreak but the Raptors allow the third-fewest fastbreak ppg at just 9.9 and they rarely turn the ball over as well. With the Under cashing in four of Golden State's last five games, back it again tonight.

Prediction: Under 217.5 (-110)

We keep mentioning the strong defensive play of the Warriors but interestingly enough they don't really lock down opponents until the second half of games where they allow a mere 45.3 ppg.

However, they tend to play a little more fast and loose during the first two quarters where they surrender 55.2 ppg, the seventh-highest number in the NBA.

The Raptors are averaging 54.4 ppg during the first half of games, and that number has surged to 62.5 ppg over their last four contests. Take the Over on the Raptors first half team total which is set at 53.5.

Pick: Raptors 1st Half Team Total Over 53.5 (-105)
