The Thunder host the Nuggets as 8.5-point favorites, with a lofty 236.5 total setting up a matchup where pace, defense, and frontcourt props create intriguing value.

My Nuggets vs. Thunder predictions target Thursday’s 9:30 p.m. ET matchup at Paycom Center, where Oklahoma City is favored by 8.5 and the total sits at 236.5.

Only three of the last 10 meetings reached 235 points, setting up an Under play.

 TOP PICK
Nuggets vs Thunder prediction: Under 236.5

I'm going to lock in the Under 236.5, down to 234.5.

The Oklahoma City Thunder drafted another 7-foot-3 big, Aday Mara, to throw at Nikola Jokic. Mara started at center for the 2026 national champion Michigan Wolverines, and the league messed up letting him fall to OKC.

Meanwhile, the Thunder can also sic elite perimeter defenders Cason Wallace and Alex Caruso at Jamal Murray. The Denver Nuggets are much easier to contain whenever Jokic or Murray has an off night, and Oklahoma City owns a top-five defense.

The pace should help, too. Per CleaningTheGlass.com, Denver ran the seventh-highest volume of half-court offense last season, while OKC ranked third. With the same coaching staffs and cores intact, I'm expecting another possession-by-possession game.

Covers COVERS INTEL: There have been 235+ points scored in only three of the last 10 Nuggets-Thunder meetings and one of those games went to overtime, where there were 34 points scored and the Over cashed by 13.5 points.

Nuggets vs Thunder combo

Denver forward Aaron Gordon and Oklahoma City big Isaiah Hartenstein give this combo two prop legs that fit naturally with a slower, more physical game.

If possessions stay concentrated in the half court, Gordon should spend plenty of time battling around the rim and chasing misses instead of sprinting back in transition. Hartenstein benefits for a different reason.

More structured possessions should keep the ball in his hands as a facilitator, especially when Denver forces OKC to work deeper into the shot clock.

That’s why the props and total fit together so well. Gordon can clean the glass, Hartenstein can create from the high post, and neither offense needs to play fast for either leg to cash.

Nuggets vs Thunder combo

  • Under 236.5
  • Aaron Gordon 6+ rebounds
  • Isaiah Hartenstein 3+ assists

Nuggets vs Thunder player props

Nuggets player prop: Aaron Gordon 6+ rebounds

I'd be willing to take Aaron Gordon's rebounding prop up to 7+.

Since going to Denver in 2021, Gordon has averaged 8.0 rebounds in 21 regular-season and playoff games against Oklahoma City. Gordon's hit rate on 6+ rebounds against OKC is 66.7% (14 of 21).

Furthermore, he is more of the paint-protecting, low-post, rebounding big than Jokic, whose main focus is offense. But Gordon is a strong perimeter defender as well, which helps him grab long rebounds off missed 3-pointers.

Thunder player prop: Isaiah Hartenstein 3+ assists

I'm going back to the well with Isaiah Hartenstein's assist prop, which is good up to 58%.

He cashed a 3+ assist prop for me Tuesday by dishing out exactly three assists in only 17 minutes of action against the San Antonio Spurs on opening night. Hartenstein should get more playing time Thursday because he averages nearly 10 more minutes per game against Denver since joining OKC.

More importantly, Hartenstein is one of the best passing bigs in basketball and the Thunder are stacked with scorers now that they are fully healthy.
