Two teams heading in opposite directions will face off on Tuesday night as the Dallas Mavericks visit the Atlanta Hawks.

Dallas has been struggling for over a month, and I like Atlanta to cover tonight in my Mavericks vs. Hawks predictions.

Let’s dive into how bettors can approach tonight’s game in my free NBA picks for Tuesday, March 10.

Mavericks vs Hawks prediction

Mavericks vs Hawks best bet: Hawks -9.5 (-110)

While the Dallas Mavericks have lost seven straight games and 17 of their last 19 overall, the Atlanta Hawks come into tonight’s game riding a six-game winning streak. Most importantly for bettors, Atlanta has covered in each of those six wins.

Dallas is struggling to score points. The Mavs are averaging 101.3 ppg over their last nine games, and have scored 100 points or less in four of those contests. That’s led to a series of blowouts, as they’ve lost by double digits in five of those games.

I see it happening again tonight, and I’m taking the Hawks to cover.

Mavericks vs Hawks same-game parlay

Dallas has hit the Under in six consecutive games, due mostly to an inability to consistently score points. I’m going to take the Under for my SGP, while throwing in a bet on Dyson Daniels to hit his PRA Over. Daniels has put up at least 24 PRA in each of his last four contests.

Mavericks vs Hawks SGP

  • Hawks -9.5
  • Under 240.5
  • Daniels Over 23.5 P/R/A

Our "from downtown" SGP: Hawks offense shows out

I’m sticking with my Hawks and Under picks for my longshot parlay tonight, but I’m going to find a couple of Hawks prop bets that have good value to pair with them.

That starts with taking Onyeka Okongwu to record a double-double, something he’s done in four of his last six games. I’m also backing Nickeil Alexander-Walker to hit Over 2.5 threes, a target he’s hit in five out of his last six contests.

Mavericks vs Hawks SGP

  • Hawks -9.5
  • Under 240.5
  • Okongwu double-double
  • Alexander-Walker Over 2.5 threes

Mavericks vs Hawks odds

  • Spread: Mavericks +9.5 | Hawks -9.5
  • Moneyline: Mavericks +325 | Hawks -426
  • Over/Under: Over 240.5 | Under 240.5

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
