Bucks vs Mavericks prediction

Bucks vs Mavericks best bet: Bucks -2 (-110)

The Dallas Mavericks continue to struggle with an injury-ravaged frontcourt. In addition to Anthony Davis, the Mavs are without Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford. That means the biggest man on the court for Dallas has been 6-foot-9 rookie Cooper Flagg, except when 6-foot-10 reserve center Dwight Powell puts in his 10 minutes a night.

Dallas also has the second-worst 3-point shooting accuracy in the NBA. They draw a tough matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks, who have the fourth-best 2-point FG% in the league, to go with the NBA’s third-best 3-point FG%.

Dallas’ struggles may actually present a problem for people trying to forecast this game.

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was listed as probable for Sunday’s loss to Houston with left knee patellar tendinopathy. He played, scoring 37 points to go with eight rebounds. However, Milwaukee may choose to use the second game of a back-to-back, against a struggling Mavericks team, to let Giannis rest his sore knee.

Antetokounmpo leads the NBA in scoring at 33.8 ppg, so his absence would have a major impact.

Of course, Milwaukee won the previous game he missed — October 30 against Golden State — with eight Bucks scoring in double figures, led by Ryan Rollins’ 32 points. Rollins is averaging 16.9 ppg in a breakout season.

Six other Bucks average double-figures, so Milwaukee should have enough scoring firepower, even in the relatively unlikely event that Giannis takes a night off.

Bucks vs Mavericks same-game parlay

The Bucks went over in their last game — a home loss to Houston — snapping a string of three straight Unders for Milwaukee.

Despite playing one of the league’s faster paces, Dallas has also been a solid Under bet. The Mavs have hit the Under on eight of their 10 games, including each of their last four.

The threes have been falling for Rollins. He has made seven of 12 over the last two games and 10 of his last 21 over the last four.

He’s also shooting short shots. He has double-figures in shot attempts in eight of his 10 games this season.

Rollins is averaging more than 16 points a game, including 19 and 20 the last two times out.
