The New York Mets will try to get out of American Family Field with at least one badly needed win as they wrap up their series with the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon.

While this is a competitive pitching matchup, my Mets vs. Brewers predictions still see Milwaukee with the advantage.

Let’s break down the final game of this weekend series with my free MLB picks for Sunday, August 10.

Mets vs Brewers prediction

Mets vs Brewers best bet: Brewers moneyline (-120)

The New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers came into this series heading in completely different directions, and nothing changed over the first two games. Milwaukee has now won eight straight, while New York has dropped 10 of 11.

The Mets have Sean Manaea on the mound for Sunday, and New York was feeling good about the returning lefty after his first three starts. But he had a shaky outing on Monday, allowing five runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings of work against the Cleveland Guardians.

That’s also the longest outing Manaea has had this season, and it’s unclear how many innings he can go right now.

Manaea won’t be giving the Mets the edge in the pitching matchup today, either. The Brewers are throwing Quinn Priester, who is 11-2 with a 3.15 ERA on the season. Milwaukee has won the last nine times he has started a game for them, and he’s been able to go seven full innings in two of his last three outings.

The Mets will eventually start winning games again, but it doesn’t seem smart to bet on them away from home right now against a quality pitcher like Priester. I’m taking the Brewers to win outright.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Mets vs Brewers same-game parlay (SGP)

Brewers moneyline

Under 8.5

Andrew Vaughn Over 1.5 total bases

I like the Brewers to win this one, but I’m expecting both pitchers to have some success. With Manaea and Priester in a pitchers’ duel, I’m taking the Under in my SGP.

I’ll round out my parlay by picking Andrew Vaughn to get involved in the Milwaukee offense by picking up at least two total bases this afternoon. He's batting .333 to begin the month of August.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
