The start of this series has featured plenty of fireworks, with 24 runs being scored through two games.
My Cubs vs White Sox predictions see the offenses winning out once again in what should be an exciting finale.
Cubs vs White Sox prediction
My Cubs vs White Sox best bet: Over 8.5 (-105 at Caesars)
The Chicago Cubs are one of the best offensive teams in the majors. They sit tied for first in runs per game, second in hits, and third in homers. They hit for average, they hit for power, and they are nearly impossible to slow down due to all the firepower in their lineup.
The Chicago White Sox are expected to go with Grant Taylor to start things off. While a very highly touted prospect, he’s pitched just 18 1/3 innings in his Big League career. Slowing down the Cubs out of the gate is a tough challeng
Backing him up will be an exploitable bullpen that ranks 29th in xFIP and 28th in SIERA on the season. Stringing together quality innings and slowing down this Cubs offense will be a very challenging task.
On the flip side, the White Sox are in a good spot to produce runs. They are first in the majors in run production since the All-Star break and now draw Ben Brown, who owns a 6.48 ERA through more than 83 innings of work.
Brown has given up at least six runs in three of his last four starts and is likely to have a difficult time slowing down this suddenly hot White Sox offense.
