The Milwaukee Brewers aim to sweep the Los Angeles Dodgers for the second time this month.

My Brewers vs. Dodgers predictions don’t expect the home team to go down without a fight, especially against Jose Quintana.

See why I’m betting on L.A. to go Over its team total with my MLB picks for Sunday, July 20.

Brewers vs Dodgers prediction

My Brewers vs Dodgers best bet: Dodgers team total Over 4.5 (-133 at Caesars)

Jose Quintana takes the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers. The 36-year-old has been serviceable with a 3.28 ERA across 13 starts, but he’s due for some regression. The veteran’s 4.41 xERA and 4.80 xFIP both indicate that he was somewhat lucky in the first half.

His .273 BABIP is also below his career mark (.302), and his left-on-base percentage (77.1%) strays a bit from his career figure (73.8%).

The southpaw’s 85 Stuff+ ranks 112th out of 113 starting pitchers who have tossed at least 70 innings this season, so he’s hardly operating with an elite arsenal of pitches at his disposal.

The Los Angeles Dodgers haven’t been at the peak of their powers against right-handed pitching lately, but they’ve hit lefties just fine (109 wRC+ in the last 30 days).

The weather favors hitting with temperatures in the mid-70s and winds of 6 to 10 mph blowing out to dead center, so L.A. should be able to plate some runs.

Milwaukee swept a three-game series earlier this month and is on the verge of doing so again, so it’d be a surprise if we don’t see a concentrated effort from the home team.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Brewers vs Dodgers same-game parlay (SGP)

Dodgers team total Over 4.5

Dodgers -1.5

Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 total bases

Will Smith Over 1.5 total bases

The Brewers have been playing great baseball, but expecting them to sweep the Dodgers twice in one month is too much (L.A. is 33-19 at home).

Will Smith has destroyed left-handed pitching (179 wRC+), and Shohei Ohtani has been adept at punishing pitchers of either hand, so both are likely to play a part if the Dodgers score runs in bunches.
