Braves vs Mets Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today’s MLB Game

Matt Olson owns pitch-to-contact right-handers for his career, and Mets SP Paul Blackburn meets that criteria. Back the Braves 1B to clear his H+R+RBI prop with ease.

The Atlanta Braves and New York Mets begin a four-game series at Citi Field on Monday, June 23, and there's a lot on the line for the division rivals.

My top Braves vs. Mets predictions and MLB picks are calling for Atlanta first baseman Matt Olson to have a say in making it four straight wins over New York.

Braves moneyline

Matt Olson Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

Juan Soto Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

Braves vs Mets best bet analysis

A recent lull at the dish has Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson in a ripe spot to kick the funk. Before his current 1-for-10 run at the dish, Olson hit the Over in this market in seven of 10 games with seven runs, 14 hits, and 14 RBI while posting a 1.142 OPS.

Additionally, the two-time All-Star is eyeing a potential statistical correction to his already high-end .368 wOBA, .225 ISO, and .794 OPS against right-handed pitchers this season, considering he posted respective .376, .269, and .889 marks against righties over the previous three years.

Of course, this should also set up as a very favorable pitching matchup for Olson.

New York Mets starter Paul Blackburn sports a career 4.91 ERA and 1.41 WHIP, and his underlying 4.31 xFIP and 6.7% strikeout-to-walk rate aren’t indicators of the 31-year-old righty flipping the script. The Braves also just faced Blackburn on Wednesday, and he allowed four runs on four hits and a pair of walks across just 3 2/3 frames.

Mets vs Braves same-game parlay analysis

I also value Olson hitting in the heart of the Atlanta lineup, and especially with superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. back from injury and leading off to the tune of a 1.202 OPS.

The Mets are in a miserable 1-8 slump, and the Braves have emerging star Spencer Schwellenbach toeing the rubber. Schwellenbach sports a tidy 3.31 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and 3.17 xFIP across his 36 career starts.

Atlanta also swept New York in a recent three-game set, and the Braves are beginning to turn the corner with an active 8-4 run while averaging a respectable 5.0 runs per game.

The final leg of this same-game parlay turns to scorching hot Mets outfielder Juan Soto. He’s racked up 14 runs, 19 hits, and 10 RBI across his past 15 games while posting a .503 wOBA, .327 ISO, and 1.192 OPS.
